Top-Rated QB Commits To USC

Quarterback Julian Lewis, a sophomore QB at Carrollton, Ga., committed to USC today. He also has offers from Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State.

He is the top sophomore QB in the country according to some observers and passed for 4,118 yards and 48 TD’s.

The usual caveats: He’s still got a few years of high school. Will Lincoln Riley be USC’s coach when he graduates?

  1. Apparently Wiley may not be around in 2024
His once-every-10-years quarterback is to the NFL
And from a small-town country boy to the coach of the Dallas Cowboys is too much to pass up

  2. Of course Dallas or any pro team probably would not pay more than the $10-million per year Wiles is reportedly drawing
So if money is no object why not stay the course with the SC gig and go down in Trojan history
instead of maybe 5-years in the NFL before he gets fired like everybody else in the pros

    1. Nailed it!

LIKED!….instead of maybe 5-years in the NFL before he gets fired like everybody else in the pros.

……and 5 years is very generous if you’re not showing incremental improvement year over year unless ownership has no desire to field a winning team

  3. I’m thinking he will change his mind. Only a HS soph., There will be other schools in his ear until the end. Really don’t like soph commitment. Too much time, if they get another 5* QB in 25, who is bigger and stronger, he will flip somewhere else. Just the beast of recruiting these dayz. 4 more days to go

  4. This kid passed for over 4,000 yards and had 48 td’s – as a Freshman playing with the varsity. The last QB to start as a Freshman in high school on the varsity team at QB and then go on to SC (as I remember it, but I’m pretty old now so…) was Todd Marinovich. Todd had some great days, but also some not so great days… I know, I know …

  5. This kid must be pretty good. 4118 yards and 48 TD’s as a 9th grader? That’s pretty good. Even if Malachi Nelson becomes a star, he will be a senior when this kid gets to SC. The question is…..can they hold on to him? Everyone in the world is going to be going after this guy in 2025!

    1. I like how he steps up into the pocket keeping his eye downfield and buying his receiver an extra second or two to gain separation. The kid has been well tutored with great athletic ability.

      Thanks for the video!

  6. Hopefully Lewis can hone his gap control and pass rush abilities by then, because USC will still be deficient there. Shootout U is not gonna win anything until they focus on defense.
