Lincoln Riley Identifies USC’s Biggest Obstacle

Lincoln Riley said today this would be USC’s biggest hurdle this season:

“Our best needs to be at the end,” (of quarters, games or the entire season). “That’s the difference between championships and not.”

That sounds like a challenge to the defense, which wilted at the end of games last season.

  1. I think that they wilted at the end of games(as well as missing a lot of tackles) because of fatigue. When you have a quick scoring offense, the defense doesn’t get any rest. When you have a tired defense with not a lot of quality reserves then you will have to keep them on the field and they get more tired. This year they have a lot of good backups. I think that their defense will be much better.

    1. She does have a sick & juvenile sense of humor. It’s no wonder she’s a USC wannabe and on the outside looking in. I’m glad not all of our fans are as mentally unbalanced.

Hey chickensh*t Gabby: You called me out when you brought my wife and mother into it. You would never do that face to face and you know it. You are the one who knows nothing about street etiquette. So stop acting like I need to canvass the homeless encampments trying to find you. Be a man. Pasadena boxing gym – give me a date pussy boy. Have the balls to tell me about my wife and mother to my face.

  2. Much more depth on the team this year, particularly on D, so fatigue shouldn’t be as much of a factor.

Eastern Michigan, SDSU, and Utah State all put up around 40 on the Spartans last year. Good opening game for Caleb and Co.

  3. When you run an air raid’ish offense the D is on the field a lot unlike a Georgia ( all these analysts know this – I hope ) thus the D needs an aggressive rotation scheme. Last year ok we didn’t have the bodies, but there’s situational rotations based upon down / distance therefore a 2* can spell a starter on obvious pass downs or even obvious run downs. Does Grinch have the chops?

  4. It’s a depth issue with the defense and we addressed it. Four new studs on the D line via the transfer portal, a freshman linebacker, and Christian Roland Wallace, Mr. versatility who can play all defensive back positions. Reilly deserves a lot of credit for bringing in these guys. He recruited based on needs.

  5. We all know this first depth chart has some coaching value let’s examine my point; Bear Alexander, Lucas two big time portal listed at OR, is a teaching moment you must prove your worthy of being a starter each week. LR is using this as motivation for the overall team if list the OR at these positions then these player’s can’t get complacent. I love it myself because the best players are going to play no matter if your a Fr. OR RSS. No favoritism love it. No Helton Era Hangover. In 48 hours we will debating Grinchy Defensive performance.
