One thing I mentioned was worth monitoring before the season was how USC would continue to match last season’s 1.50 turnover margin — the best mark in the nation.
So where do we stand after two games? USC has one turnover (good) and has forced one turnover (not so good). This is a more normal turnover margin, maybe a little disappointing to the coaches considering the first two games might be the two easiest on the schedule.
It just shows how last year’s turnover margin was kind of an anomaly. Maybe USC will have a breakthrough with Stanford. But it’s going to be more difficult because the corners don’t really have the ball hawk skills like Mekhi Blackmon did last season.
Frankly, this stat is much more relevant in the bigger games anyways, which come later in the season.

We havent seen CRW and Covington as the corners for the majority of a game. That is the best combo, unless Domani can start making the play on the ball and then CRW can play nickel. Domani in position most of the time to make the play, just needs to be taught how to make it.
I watched a rerun of parts of the Washington game. We are going to need fast secondary to shut those receivers down. They really stretch that field. That is a game where Bullock needs to rise to the challenge.
This defense will be a work in progress for a while. There are alot of inexperienced players who could be great – Davis, Curtis, Domani, Covington, Pierce, Zion, Bear, Barrs and more.
You dont hear much about Barrs or Sullivan on the d-line.

Put a bit differently, the turnovers last season saved USC D from giving up many more points to Rice and Fresno State. Both Rice and Fresno had strong running games vs USC, and Rice had an awful rushing attack last year throughout the season. IMO, the D-line is much better now. Even against an opponent like Nevada, holding them to 48 yards in 29 carries is a great outcome.

Perhaps a lot of the turnovers came from people being in the wrong position at the right time. I am not to worried about that one particular stat, it will take care of itself. A good defense will get the turnovers and a good team will have more recoveries than turnovers lost. If the defense cannot create a T/O then perhaps they are not that good of a defense.

I am surprised I haven’t read more about the loss of a O lineman to a season ending injury. I saw a story today saying he was the key to the offense and how much he’d be missed in future.
Now for some government conspiracy theories. Why is the government (once again) banning incandescent light bulbs? We are told it’s to help save electricity, but that doesn’t make sense. Electrical circuits are just circles and no matter what the drain, the electricity is lost. I have heard two theories, which make more sense. 1. The president and his cronies own the alternative light bulb company. OR 2. LED bulbs contain circuitry, which communicate with the inter web and tells the president and his cronies what you are doing.
So is it the length of my post or the URL that get them excluded? That is really what this long post is about. I see links posted and videos posted, but if I try to post Jeff Dunham’s dummy Walter dressed as Joe Biden I get blocked.

No matter what you use for lights, it uses the amps but you pay for the watts. Makes perfect sense right? One reason I don’t have a smart house is because it opens the door for bad things to happen. Led’s by themselves are simple circuits that produce light as a byproduct. That is why they are cool when on. Does the president and his cronies make led’s? I kinda doubt it as they come from China anyway. NSA has so many ways of watching you it doesn’t matter one bit what you use for light. Do they care what you are doing? Probably not unless you are on a “list”.

When it comes to turnovers, the focus is ball security, and staying on the plus side of the turnover battle. Coaches don’t rely on creating turnovers to win games.
