USC Notes: Kliavkoff The Clown; ASU Kickoff Set

A Washington Superior Court judge ruled in favor of Oregon State and Washington State, granting a restraining order that Pac-12 cannot meet as a board until the court rules further.

This is good because it protects Oregon State/Washington State and the chance of preserving the Pac-12. The judge was aghast the Pac-12 wanted the entire conference to vote on a proposal that would pay some of the money for the transition costs for departing members.

Here’s the kicker: The judge noted during the hearing that Pac-12 commissioner George Kliavkoff is in Montana, where he owns a home!

You know when else Kliavkoff was in Montana? The day USC and UCLA announced they were leaving for the Big Ten.

This clown is a clown to the end.

  • The USC-Arizona State game in Tempe on Sept. 23 will kick off at 7:30 p.m. PT and air on Fox Network.
  • Zachariah Branch has been named Pac-12 special teams player of the week after his 75-yard TD punt return vs. Stanford.

  1. The last second “Hail Mary”!… desperation is their new reality. The conference has 8 teams ranked in the top 25 which represents a marked improvement in the overall quality of football being played in this soon-to-be disbanded conference…such a pity.

    Many many decades of traditions between the schools will disappear for the sake of monetary gains…….I am sad, but perhaps USC felt it was time for them to capitalize on their own NIL.

Then they don’t take care of the number 1 brand, in your conference (USC); in the biggest market in your conference( LA area). Parity is what they got. Now they are soon to be de funct. Reap what you sow. The crap ass officiating in games is a testament to this. Why do you think Lincoln is doing his Bobby Knight, Woody Hayes routine? So they don’t get screwed in future games. By refs that make the rules up as they go along. Facts! Fight on Trojan fans. Facts!

    1. The Pac 12 schools should go to court NOW and stop payment on any monies still “owing” to Kliavkoff. This complete clown stopped providing services several months ago. What is he being paid for? To watch TV at home?
      I know it seems like getting a court order at this late date is more trouble[and embarrassment] than it’s worth —but this should be treated as a matter of principle. George is spitting on the Pac12 —and getting paid for it.

        I would rather take the case of Oregon and Washington States–
        The other 10 decided to take the money and run, so I would argue
        that the two steadfast schools take the lion’s share of any leftover proceeds

        Can Oregon St. and Wash. St go after Larry Scott and the present pac 12 commissioner for derilict of duty, incompetency, breach of contract, and not performing as a commissioner? Larry Scott did secure a tv contract that would have benefical to all schools and he had granduer ideas that the Pac 12 network would carry the Pac 12 finacially without solid evidence that it would. He lived a pipe dream. Then the present commissioner did not do his job by securing a tv contract either which lead to the Pac 12 disolving. Sue them for destruction, mayhem, ebellezment, fraud, and theft. Sue them for an amount of around $500 mil, that is what a contract would have gone for for 10 years.

  3. I just watched how Shedeur Sanders conducted himself in several interviews — besides being a fucking good QB, he’s fucking quick witted and confident. Deion knows if Shedeur outperforms Caleb [I know, way easier said than done] he becomes the favorite for the Heisman — this Colorado game is gonna be nuts…we’re gonna see a hair-on- fire Colorado team [& we better be ready for craziness on the part of the Pac 12 officials on top of all the other shit we’re gonna be facing on September 30th].

      2. Gabby I was thinking the same thing, that’s why I’m going 48- 24 USC over the buffs. They get drawn back down to Earth. Afterwards, USC will get major credit for this win. Against the flavor of the month! Fight on

    3. Don’t think that’s happening, MG– it has taken Wiley 2-years to get where he is whereas Sanders is still in Year-1 so I would presume he has a lot of holes still to fill especially on the offensive and defensive lines

    4. Thank you for that Michael. That was hilarious. Yes, Sanders is a great quarterback but if that offensive line couldn’t handle Nebraska, I shudder to think what USC will do to those guys, especially the interior where the center is the backup and the player they needed wasn’t allowed to join this year.

  4. Very sad, indeed. Most of us have felt that way since the move was announced.

    I’ll be very sad on Nov 18 even after we stomp on the Ruins because that will be the last regular season Pac 12 game ever played. 😦

    Here’s another for NYC and all who had loved ones who perished that day or from related illnesses. (As of Dec 2022, the number of deaths from related illnesses surpassed the 2.7K killed on 9/11.)

    1. Well, for USC anyway. Some P12 teams have games on Nov 25. We essentially have a bye at the end of the season. (To get ready for the conference championship!!) 🙂
