Morning Buzz: USC Uniform Standards Disappear

If you are a USC football player, the biggest decision of the week must be deciding what to wear. Because the truth is, anything goes for game-day attire.

I could be talking about the clothes the players wear to the Coliseum but I’m actually referring to what they wear on the field.

  • Tackett Curtis wore yellow tights with his jersey rolled up to his stomarch.
  • Meanwhile, the wide receivers wore black tights.
  • Caleb Williams wore a cardinal long-sleeve shirt while other players wore white sleeves. Williams wore black socks. Other players wore white socks.
  • Marshawn Lloyd wore black and white cleats while the others are wearing black shoes.

It’s a scattershot approach and there’s very little about the uniform that is uniform.

What are the standards at USC? None.

It’s a far cry from 1981 and 1974 (below). But those teams weren’t obsessed with their drip.

    1. That fucking idiot Donte Williams wears tights to the Ladies of Troy practices. So that idiot goes to the locker room and puts on womens tights everyday, what the fuck is going on inside his head that he would do such a thing? What a fucking idiot!

I mean that clown Donte Williams, a supposed grown man, putting on womens tights, Jesus Christ Almighty!

And ‘Ol Mule Shoe lets him do it. He sees what a fucking fool Donte Williams looks like, running around the field wearing womens tights and for what purpose? That idiot Donte Williams wants to dress up like a girl wearing tights, let him go up to Eugene with all the other little girly fashionista’s, he can’t coach worth a shit so he’s fucking worthless anyway.

  1. As for myself, and probably most of us on here, we never noticed the differences. But we are so proud of you Wolf for actually finding something to complain about. It took 3 days but in the end you came through. Great job in finding such an important item to report on.

Mr. Wolf probably got tired of you clowns and all your impersonating other people. Now you’re upset because it takes you a little longer to change screen names. You idiots did it to yourselves.

It’s not like you Bozo’s have anything better to do anyway so quit complaining.

    1. Those idiots are wearing womens tights…what the fuck is wrong with you?

You probably wear womens tights too, along with the skirt and blouse.

      Goddamn!

  2. Alabama doesn’t put up with this crap. Despite their loss to Texas, they’re still the class of the NCAA. If a player wants to stand out apart from the team (aside from his play), he’s more worried about HIS brand and not the team’s. Pathetic need for attention. What’s up with the punter wearing white shoes? What an idiot.

  3. The two best defenses in the PAC are Cal and Oregon St. No more 50 point games. No soup for you. You’re in for a different experience. Last year you managed to squeak by Cal by 6 points. You were lucky.
Scrambler Caleb, see Aaron Rodgers. One tackle, one less Achilles tendon. Career over.

      1. Achilles get eaten when one of your foot has cleats that are in the ground. It doesn’t make any difference if you are 20 or 40.
LJ, go read a book instead of making a worthless comment. It’s beneath you. But not beneath MG. He’s perfected it.

    1. By the way, MG, a reading of a sports medical article states as follows:
“Prevalence of Achilles tendonopathy increases with age leading to a weaker tendon with predisposiiton to rupture.”

But don’t tell ’75, he might get mad

Political policies and public policy to drive down property values so real estate can be eventually acquired for pennies on the dollar by patient investors. Just like coal stocks under Obama.

My problem with the uniforms is the lack of traditional football pads.
Anyone who played football at any level during the seventies knows that football players were padded like knights of yore.
My uniform pants had pockets for knee pads, thigh pads and went over a girdle like hip pad assembly. Shoulder pads covered beyond the shoulders and often had neck rolls.
Nowadays the uniform pants look like spanx shorts, sometimes leaving no doubt as to the gender of the wearer or whether or not he is wearing protective gear on his private parts. Shoulder pads look like toys and the only way to tell the offensive linemen is the knee braces.
The leggings worn these days are probably to protect from grass burns as those spanx rarely go on or below the knee.
But as someone has pointed out. Most of us don’t notice those details.

  6. I’m generally in favor of the old ways but some new things(not many) are good. I’d hate to have to wear a suit and tie everywhere I go like they did in the 1920’s and 1930’s. Maybe there is a reason to match every tiny detail of the players uniforms but, for the most part, I think that it’s making a mountain out of a molehill. It’s like (as one of you have said), asking Mrs. Lincoln after the opera in which her husbands head was blown off….”Mrs. Lincoln….how did you like the opera?”.
