USC Morning Buzz: Calling Carol Folt By Her First Name Could Get You Suspended

This really takes the biscuit, as the English would say.

One of the things USC cited to reporter Luca Evans that was against their rules was referring to university president Carol Folt as “Carol” at a press conference.

Are you kidding me?

Are we supposed to kneel or curtsy in Folt’s presence as well?

As I write this, I’m reminded Tim Tessalone complained that I called former president Steven Sample “Steve” and Max Nikias “Max” when I spoke to them. I ignored him (as usual) and figured he was sort of joking. I guess he wasn’t. Neither Sample nor Nikias ever complained about it and were always friendly to me.

But when you’re compiling a dossier of transgressions, this seems extremely out of order by USC. So does expecting a reporter to not say hello to a player if you cross paths with them on campus.

What is happening to USC? The sense of self-importance just permeates the place right now, between Sir Lincoln of Riley and Queen Folt.

You don’t have to like Pete Carroll but he used to talk to the janitors and treat them with as much respect as anyone on campus. It’s one reason people gravitated to the program. I doubt Riley does that.

Here’s the excerpt if you don’t believe me about Folt.

      1. Oh, TB is a “fellow earthling” alright, Michael, I’ve seen worse but not by much

“Kneel or curtsy” before ‘Without-a-Folt?” You forgot genuflecting

Actually, this is as usual Wolf’s over-the-top point of view; he’s still sore with “Caesar” so now it is Wiley’s turn

  1. USC slide per the annual USN&WR ntl’ university rankings has been a direct result of the endless scandals that have hit the school as Nikias’ stint as chancellor crept to its’ end. This PR move by Folt is another testament of a new ‘dynasty’ of control making its’ presence felt – hers.
I’ve defended her in the past put this is way beyond anything we’ve seen before and the recent replacement of many key heads with females is another testament of what is happening worldwide – the feminization of culture and the emasculation of the same.

If you think this isn’t a microcosm of a portent of things fast approaching you are sadly unaware of how fast this kind of cancer can flip as more and more of this idiocy spreads and that’s because all these feminazis and their castrated gender challenged questionable ‘males’ have an end game in sight….question them and await their deep dive into your past.

    1. Your assessment of females compared to males is borderline mysogeny, ‘soviet, or at least unreasonably biased towards men

Men have been getting in the way of women’s ability to advance for thousands of years and “They aren’t going to take it anymore”

There can be “the feminization of culture” without it adversely affecting men’s masculinity.

In fact the rise of Woman should cause the rise in Man

    2. Actually the whole ranking scam is based on the acceptance rate of the applicants to the university. Another school in town accepted fewer applicants so they are rated higher.

      1. I wish that were true – anyone who believes the scandals that have his USC these past 8 years is living in a fools paradise thinking that has nothing to do impacting the national appraisal.
Pervert gynecologist, drug addict head of the medical school, a former dean of social welfare fired for collusion with a crooked politician, a former AD plundering a foundation for his and his relatives benefit…not even including Rick Singer’s escapades. The cumulative impact is why they have dropped. Nikias was an absent landlord specific to oversight but he could raise money – he’s gone and with him gone there is a new force in town. Sad to say this maybe our national ranking going forward based on her impersonation of ‘HRH.

Enjoy the ride St. Mark, this is not going to rise soon.

      1. Would if the entire student body gives her the middle finger and calls her Carol. What is she going to do, suspend everyone at USC? She sounds like a Napoleon narcissist with power. I knew from day one that the roaming gnome was out of touch with USC and what makes it Great.

      2. Just wanted to say again. Carol Folt presided over the 2 worst (both) academic and athletic scandals in UNC history. Then was let go by the UNC board of regents. Then was hired by the USC board of directors 6 months later, at a healthy increase in salary, not to mention an 8.8m dollar home for free. Some people in current society are allowed to fail miserably…Upwards.

      3. Reminds me of Barbara Boxer dressing down a Marine for calling her “Mam.” She told him tthat he will address her as, “Senator.” Yikes.

    2. Recall Michael that Wiley is an introverted personality and does not feel comfortable always being in the public-eye’. He would be a happy man being alone working out of his office.
–Introverts have limited ‘peresonality-breadth’ so to speak
and sometimes awkwardly handle things an extrovert would dance around

      1. Very, VERY astute, John. But having an Elon Musk as Head Coach at USC is gonna cause increasing amounts of trouble public relations-wise.

    1. I was hoping Lincoln was different from Clay —- remember how Clay’s eyes would start to glow red [kinda like Mister Toad when he saw a motor car] if someone asked a question he didn’t like about his coaching [deficiencies]?

    1. She’s embarrassed the university enough. She’s needs to go after this drunk with power demand. Good morning Carol Folt you roaming gnome. Here’s the finger to your demands. She’s needs to be brought down to reality off that pompous mountain she shyts on. What a fucin dolt!

  3. Y’all gettin too ‘California Comfy’ with people you come into contact with on the daily, but DON’T know personally. President Folt is just that, “PRESIDENT FOLT” or “MRS FOLT”. It’s only “Carol” if you know her on a personal level. I don’t like the fact that people call Lincoln Riley by his first name instead of “Coach”, too. It’s disrespectful to think you’re automatically on a first name basis with strangers.

What ever happened to respect for a person’s title?

    1. I liked him until he left like a fucin politician. Lied his ass off for 9 years saying he had no aspirations for the NFL. As soon as shyt hit the fan at USC, he ran to the NFL, the sea chickens. He lost a lot of respect from fans including me. I don’t care if Seattle gets their ass kicked every week. He deserves everything he gets.

  4. Scooter,

Now I know where I stand with Folt when I see her next time. I have proper names for her to call her when I address her. They are:
Hey Midget, Folt the Dolt, Hey you, You suck, hey commie, Up urs,
    Hey dip shi%.

Both Riley and Folt should have taken the reporter to the side and let him know what the rules were/are and give him an oral warning. But to punish someone like that is outrageous. This is out of control.

    1. Pasadena — You hit the nail on the head. No matter how obnoxious Carol and Lincoln find this reporter to be….for their own sakes and images —-they should have come up with a solution that didn’t look like it came out of Nancy Pelosi’s playbook. Of all the remedies available, they picked the worst.
