Where Did The Fanboys Go?

You know what else is shameful about the suspending of a reporter.

The reaction of the fanboy media. Or rather the non-reaction. Look at their twitter accounts. They have completely ignored the issue, which is awful because they might find themselves suspended one day for no real reason. They are also showing no support at all for a colleague.

It’s cowardly to say the least.

One of their colleagues gets suspended and they suddenly go silent. Ask yourself what it says about the fanboy media if they are too scared to do anything they think might jeopardize their own access or maybe, heaven forbid, actually stand up to Lincoln Riley. They are too busy falling over themselves to curry favor with Riley than express a thought about a fellow reporter being suspended.

      1. True…but ill take it a step further. Kartje at the times. Has never written anything critical of the program even with helton being a disaster. All because if he did, Bohn would not feed him info earlier than every one else. Besides most of these writers really do not know the mechanics of the sports they report on and cannot see tendencies and patterns to be able to refute what they are being told by coaching staffs or admins. Also they take the fluff hook line and sinker. See LSU hype video guys, see new strength and conditioning guy and all the instagram posts (ND helton hire), see the red head NIL idiot charlatan (now in witness protection). Every year there is a new narrative and the same old shit. Its like helton saying “Well we were 120 out of 131 in penalties and penalty yards this year so I will make it my personally responsibility to fix that going forward.” It was his responsibility for that to begin with. The next year they were 129 out of 131. So it was a point of emphasis and they actually went backwards. He or Bohn were never asked to answer for those facts. That is journalism 101. But then the same thing goes on in general news too. The average journalist from 40 years ago and back would be a rockstar journalist today and that is a fact. The standard for the industry is gone.

      2. This. Get rid of anyone who publishes anything bad about football. Create the environment so that you have carte blanche, no bosses or oversight. Player commits armed robbery? That’s fine since no one will have the balls to report it lest they lose their credential. As long as that kid keeps up his 2-sack-per-game pace, no problem.

  4. The first guy they should ban is you, Scott. This isn’t the Kremlin’s suppression of the media. You have no right to access those facilities or the kids. It’s a privilege, not a right. If it were a right there would already be a lawsuit. Follow the rules or get banned. It’s just more negativity from a guy who makes a living throwing rocks. Often you’re right but it’s overshadowed by all the useless negativity about everything.

  5. Hey Wolf, it’s called accountability. If the reporter was previously warned as to what not to do, and yet they still did it, then a suspension is warranted. This is why the U.S.A. is going down the toilet. People do not want to adhere to rules because a majority of the time they are not being enforced.

  14. So the point is that the press/journalists don’t have to obey the rules. Go ahead and conduct interviews of players after you agreed to stop the interview process. Then bitch about it when you are penalized for the violation after a warning. And address the USC President as “Carol” or the Mayor as “Karen” or the Governor as “Gavin” or the President as “Joe.” After all, your a journalist and have concluded that they are not worthy of being addressed by their titles. Maybe a private in the Marine Corp should address an officer as “Bob.” Why salute him, he is no better than you. And why do I have to stand when the Judge enters the court and address him as “your honor.” What’s with the black robe and the elevated seat. I think some of you need to think about what is behind the courtesies and symbolism that are extended to people placed in positions of authority. Without respect for authority, and traditional roles, we have chaos. Of course many news organizations find contempt for authority to be a prerequisite for the job. Does not surprise me that Scott and Plaschke do not appreciate rules and tradition.

  15. I have read others on the suspension. Apparently there are some things that are not accurate by that reporter. I do not agree with suspensions for mistakes but for out right lies I do. Even calling some one Caesar could be a reason, stupid is as stupid does. The press/media thinks it is all powerful in this country…it is just as corrupt as the humans that wield it.
