USC-Colorado Blog

This feels pretty hollow now. USC let Colorado come back. Oregon didn’t.

OK, now the USC defense is reverting to form. As usual.

This game has gone to plan.

Another deep ball for Colorado. This time on Jacobe Covington.

But Domani Jackson reverted to form with that 65-yard pass, which led to a TD.

Caleb Williams’ Heisman campaign going swimmingly.

Has Raesjon Davis or Shane Lee played? I’m asking because Lincoln Riley said they had big roles to play.

You can leave comments about the game here.

USC wide receiver Zachariah Branch is not dressed. Colorado safety Shilo Sanders is doubtful today.

Scott Wolf, I would like to point out your lack of professionalism and integrity as a sports journalist. My background is in the IT field and am familiar with WordPress architecture. After ghosting your blog several times something odd came to my attention. A person who often replies under the username “Cowardly Gabby” (too many characters to list the entire name) is replying with “embedded posts” lifted from Twitter accounts. Here’s the problem with that, only the administrator/ owner of this website would have access to “developer t00ls” that could permit these types of posts to come through without being flagged for moderation.

The person in question is replying with “embedded posts” one after another, often only one to two minutes apart. If I try to post a reply with an “embedded post”, from Twitter, in the comment box it would trigger the “waiting for moderation” dialog. It’s obvious this person’s replies are not being flagged for moderation.

You have just been exposed for engaging in some really despicable behavior. I will be sure to let the other sites I frequent know the type of behavior taking place here

I just ran across the 2003 email confirming my account with the O. C. Register USC blog which was the forerunner of this blog. Major differences are that the banter was about USC sports, the author/ owner routinely answered posts without using an alias and the blog was linked to newspaper. For almost 20 years this blog was a fun place to post. Even bRuin trolls were semi civil. Now this blog has become whatever level of hell with the stated purpose to chase people off the blog.
I can’t even guess who is real or an imposter and the sad thing is the blog owner condones the behavior. This blog needs to

Gabby: I didn’t use the term “white guy.” The CEO of Ocean Gate used the term white guy. I suppose that reading comprehension isn’t one of your strengths. But since you brought my wife into it, something that you would never do if we met face to face, let’s meet up Mr. keyboard tough guy or are you going to chickensh*t out like you normally do. 3. — Just saw the 1st quarter highlights on my screen
and it’s almost unfair the difference in talent
When that Buffalo missed the field goal,
I heard the sound of the crowd suddenly muffled

    1. Agree. Until they get a DC that is respected, has a successful track record, and brings intensity to his squad, this team will continue to be a soulless, air raid focused, football team.

  4. Defense is looking gased we can’t keep doing this shit LR. We will win but I knew the altitude is getting to us can we get a more ball control series next time we have the ball. Call time out to give our defense a rest.

  5. I am just watching the score pile up and there’s still a quarter to go
Sanders is good but SC’s corners apparently aren’t with that score
And the gamblers are still in this with SC a 3+ touchdown favorite

    1. agree. riley has a golden ticket and he is throwing it away with loyalty to really bad coaches. he needs to fire all the defensive coaches and probably the o-line coach.

i have to say that scott has been right about donte the whole time. His players are in position to make a play and NEVER make the play.

there is a cultural issue problem at usc as well. his teams dont have the toughness required to play 4 quarters of a game.

  7. not sure USC should be in the top 10. the USC defense gets WORSE every day that these crappy defensive coaches are employed. throw in the crappy offensive line coach too.

it is tough being a USC fan because I see such amazing talent being thrown away

      1. Depending on how other games shake out today USC could be 11th or 12th ranked next week….
…But it doesn’t matter where we are next week —the sad fact is the team [as someone said] is soulless. No way they’ll make playoffs.

  8. Could that sucla Just Owns be right about 8-4? Let’s see–
    at Notre Dame
Utah at home (likely with the Utes’ quarterback)
    at Oregon
    at Cal
    Wash at home
    sucla at home

    8-4?— Hmmm

    1. I was thinking the same thing. Owns kinda saw this coming —- but I think we pull off a couple of surprise wins in spite of Grinch….
My big concern? Without Branch USC played with almost zero enthusiasm. Caleb is already thinking of the NFL …and laughed after he threw the dumb interception. His head isn’t 100% in the game….and he doesn’t deserve another Heisman just on talent alone.

      1. I agree this team very possibly gets to 10-2, not J.O.’s 8-4
but ‘Celeb’ laughing at his interception
I think is about frustration not caring.
The guy knows how to win even when saddled with a poor defense

      2. As good as Caleb is I don’t like what happens to him when things aren’t going according to plan. Same for Riley. Deion was very cordial at the postgame handshake and Lincoln wanted to break it off and get moving.

      3. It’s obvious now the Pac 12 was vastly overrated and despite USC’s lousy defense that gave 564 total yards this morning, they should be able to win the remaining games with Celeb Williams remaining upright . That blindside hit made my heart skip a beat.

      4. Compared with the the chump change “the Glory Hog” is plumbing for his Clown U cupcake wins doesn’t compare to the monumental avalanche of NFL cash available to Caleb, say, between NFL Draft Day, 2024 and, the NFL, 2027 – ’28 season.

Why is “the Glory Hog” flirting with stupid, bozo FB disaster?

  9. I didn’t watch the game, Michael, but Wiley giving short-shrift to Neon is par for the course with coaches shaking hands after the game. The “encounter” is forced on the coaches and it is obvious they don’t like it

    1. I’ve seen up and coming coaches actually give enthusiastic “great game!” handshakes after hard fought games — Riley is beginning to slip into Carol’s elitist persona —- and, guess what?, normal people aren’t real moved by that kinda attitude…

  10. Oregon allowed a single TD to Buffs and that was with less than 3 minutes to play. We give up SIX TDs and is a one-score game in 4th quarter.
Arizona St gets ZERO points at home against Fresno St and we give up FOUR TDs and again, is a one-score game in 4th quarter.
Unless we just play “down to our competition,” which is a result of poor coaching, are we all of a sudden going to turn it on against good teams? Either way it’s a terrible trait and again, a sign of poor coaching.

  13. The defense gave up 32 first downs and 564 yards to Colorado. The only thing that is better about this defense over last years defense is that they have more talent and depth. On the field they are no better.
