Will USC Actually Play Mississippi?

Is USC still going to have a home-and-home with Mississippi in 2025 and 2026 following its move to the Big Ten?

The series is still on right now but I wonder if Lincoln Riley wants to play the series.

Look at the 2026 schedule:

Home games: Fresno State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Washington, Maryland.

Road games: Mississippi, Penn State, UCLA, Wisconsin, Indiana, Rutgers.

Do you think Riley wants that schedule? The one way to make it easier is to replace Mississippi with a cupcake.

As usual, the disclaimer is whether Lane Kiffin or Riley will actually be coaching these teams when the series starts in 2025.

  1. I don’t believe Wiley can stand the Big City heat with so many naysayers critically dissecting his every football move so he may be gone if extended a nice NFL offer, and Kiffy is staying put for a while

  4. Don’t understand the “pressure is too great” comments. Reilly had as much pressure to succeed at Oklahoma as he has at USC. The Oklahoma fans are rabid about football. And why would anyone go to the NFL if they can’t handle the pressure of the college game. More pressure in the big leagues and a greater time commitment.

        First off, ‘Ol Mule Shoe looks like Dopey from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and he doesn’t have the kind of presence to deal with NFL players.

        Second, ‘Ol Mule Shoe doesn’t give two shits about establishing a legit defense. He’s so clueless when it comes to defense he can’t see that Alex Grinch isn’t worth a shit.

        ‘Ol Mule Shoe’s resume speaks for itself, his defenses have always been average at best and that’s being generous. Anyone that knows football, from fans to players to coaches, to CFB media pundits coast to coast all see the same thing, Alex Grinch can’t coach worth a shit.

  5. That future usc schedule? Sabin would quit. The SEC has been a scheduling ruse for years. Oh we have such a tough conference schedule. Please. That’s been disproven every year but the “smoky and the bandit” biased idiots in the ncaa give them a pass every year. A pass in shady recruiting crap as well. Sure if you rest your starters half the season by playing Monmouth states, you’re gonna do well. Who to blame? The athletic administration for usc.
