USC Saturday Buzz: Secondary Depleted

Cornerback Domani Jackson is not expected to play tonight vs. Arizona, according to On3.

Jackson appeared to hurt himself while making a tackle after giving up a 27-yard completion against Colorado but there was no indication from Lincoln Riley this week that he might not play.

If Jackson is out, the options at corner are Ceyair Wright and Jacobe Covington.

I would say it could be a long night for the secondary but that was the case before Jackson’s injury.

  • Actor/rapper O’Shea Jackson Jr., the son of Ice Cube, will lead USC out of the tunnel tonight. USC is his alma mater.

Can’t USC find enough ex-players to lead the team out of the tunnel? What’s Richard Wood doing?

  3. You (Scott) can’t have it both ways, old sport. You slam Domani Jackson as a guy who’s not ready for prime time, and then commence with “We’re lost without him” stuff. Next man up, as they say – you’re only as good as your weakest link.

  6. That defense is not well coached. UCLA runs a similar attacking defense with far less talent among the players. USC’S defense has two 5 stars and twenty one 4 stars. UCLA’s defense has zero 5 stars and ten 4 stars. Yet USC’s defense is rated #62 and UCLA’s defense is rated #6. If UCLA’s coaching staff had SC’s players they’d be #1 in the nation on defense.
