Cornerback Isaiah Rubin of Los Alamitos High School committed to USC today. Rubin, a four-star prospect, chose the Trojans over, Utah, Oregon and Colorado.
USC definitely needs cornerbacks. My question is who will be coaching the corners next season? Is Donte Williams coming back?

John Robinson and John Madden said that they used to discuss what was the starting point for a great defense – Do you start with the D-Line or do you start with the D-Backs? They would flip flop their priorities because of the weight of the other’s arguments. With a great D-Line, nothing gets past them and there’s no time to throw deep. With great D-Backs, nothing is open and the offense becomes one dimensional. That said, we have to keep going forward and stock up the defense with kids who love contact and love to disrupt the offense. Welcome Aboard!!

Donte Williams began mentoring Domani Jackson when Jackson was in grade school. Jackson was the #1 cornerback recruit in the nation. He has repeatedly said that he would not have come to USC but for Williams. I think that relationship may have saved Williams job. Well, Domani has turned out to be as valuable to the defense as Korey Foreman. Hey Donte, time to say goodbye and feel free to take Domani with you.

They just point out Grinch’s record dating back to osu, ou and the last 2 years, the lack of line play, and a one dimensional approach from the head coach. Well CR, if the recruits played for MD or SJB, presumably good catholic boys, they don’t go to a college that doesn’t provide a sizeable signing bonus. Probably used to getting paid for playing football and don’t want to take a salary cut. Hell, Bruce Rollinson was getting paid 500,000 a year to coach high school football – considerably more than the priest/principal of the school. I wonder if donations to these schools are eligible for charitable deductions tax status pursuant to 501c3. Doesn’t look like a charity to me. Meanwhile, my son’s public high school asks for volunteers to help coach the sports teams.

These kids want to go to the “league”. They need to be coached up. Riley has become a major disappointment to me. Were all loyal, until it’s time not to be.
