USC-Cal Live Blog

USC squeaks by Cal, 50-49. The flaws of the program were on full display. This never should have been a 1-point game.

USC had all the momentum and then the defense let Cal score a TD.

The Pac-12 refs are giving USC an extra play from the end of the first half to start the second half. Incredible officiating.

Cal has rushed for 177 yards. In the first half.

USC is playing Cal. Not Notre Dame or Utah. Cal!

This is an utter joke. Lincoln Riley is an embarrassment.

USC run defense is awful. Two long TD runs. Against Cal. Dear God.

USC leads 10-0 thanks to a Cal botched handoff. Cal being Cal.

Justin Dedich must lead the nation in false starts by a center.

Kickoff goes out of bounds. Need special teams coach.

USC looks predictable and keeps having Caleb Williams run the ball.

Lincoln Riley is at the game and on the field for pre-game warmups.

Safety Max Williams and cornerback Jacobe Covington are not dressed.

    1. LOL!

The Ladies of Troy defense once again parting like the Red Sea.

Shit Cal offense running wild TD!

Grinch on the sideline looking every bit the dumbfounded dumb fuck that he is.

  1. Another Cal rushing TD…Bears take the lead

How will ‘Ol Mule Shoe try and defend his incompetent boyfriend Alex Grinch after this embarrassment of Cal running over and through the Ladies of Troy crap defense?

  2. And I BETTER NOT see one of you try to say, “it’s the defense” again or I’ll pull out a bat. It’s the entire system. This type of Air Raid ball is a hustle, a fraud, a gimmick, the exact opposite of complementary football, a way for hustlers and grifters to run up certain stats to look like they’re not as bs as they are and empty the bank from idiots and fools. But this wasn’t the work of fools, it was deliberate, just like the program suicidal move to the Permafrost Conference 2,000 miles away. Folt even tried to block OU and UW because she wanted SC in Siberia alone. But keep believing if you must, just get a lot of Advil and alcohol! Ha.

  3. if we’re honest, this season is not going to result in anything worthwhile except getting murdered on the recruiting trail. On second thought, they can start playing the second and third string kids to audition for next year. One thing LR can do to at least “reset” the program and himself, is to send a message that mediocrity will not be tolerated. How? Fire Grinch and be vocal about it. Be professional but aggressive. Stop with this passivity bs. Does he have the chops ?

  5. The chewers are melting down on the blogs and forumz. “We need to recruit 50 Godzillas! The only way to stand a chance against Cal or Tulane is to have a team of Godzillas! And the Godzillas gotta be right out of high school!” LOOL

    1. You fix that offensive line and you still have the best offense in the nation(better than Oregon). The defense has too many problems to even talk about it. I’Il say we go 7-5 this year. Oregon might score 60 against us. I’m sure LR is saying to himself…..”why didn’t I listen to the fans and bring in a new DC”.

  6. #USC dodged a bullet there against what would’ve thought was a much inferior team. Saying it since Tulane, #AlexGrinch obviously needs to go. Not enough talent on the O-Line either. @LincolnRiley I’m confident you will make the necessary coaching staff changes. Below are my suggested DC candidates:
    #JimLeonhard
    #GaryPatterson
    #TomAllen

    1. When it comes to 4 stars versus 5 stars(teamwise), Oregon is 47-6 and SC is 39-6(a difference of eight 4 stars. When it comes to 4 stars versus 5 stars(just on the O-Line and D-Line), Oregon is 15-2 and SC is 9-1. So both teams are talented but Oregon has more talent. But I’ll agree. This coaching staff has not done a good job this year. With the talent they have, this team should be competing bigtime even in a good Pac-12. They’re not. They’re going to get killed by Oregon.

      1. You hire a head coach known for developing 3 star and below recruits that other programs overlook, that head coach is Chris Petersen.

There is an idiot or two here on the blog that keep saying Petersen doesn’t want to coach anymore, as if they speak to him on a regular basis and have asked him, they haven’t, they’re just full of shit.

Petersen’s teams were always equally good on both sides of the ball, his players rarely missed tackles, they were tough, beating the likes of Oklahoma, Georgia, Virginia Tech, TCU, Oregon St., they owned those) Chip Kelly Oregon teams, Washington, Arizona St. and he won with mostly 2 star recruits. Wins against the previously mentioned teams happened because of good coaching.

Riley is gone after this season, he doesn’t want to be in L.A. at USC, who gives a fuck what he wants, just as long as he gets the fuck up out of L.A. and USC can get on with hiring an elite head coach and staff.

USC/Jen Cohen need to ask Petersen if he would be interested, can’t be like the clowns here who think they know everything when they don’t know shit, assuming that Petersen is done with coaching, he’s not.

With Haden, Swann and the majority of corrupt assholes that contaminated Heritage Hall and the USC athletic department gone, my guess is that Petersen would take the USC job, it’s the job he’s wanted all along.

Fuck Lincoln Riley, fuck Alex Grinch, fuck Shaun Nua and the other fraud Donte Williams, they don’t give a shit about USC, they’re only concern has been about their paycheck, that’s it.

They’re all grossly overpaid and lucky to be employed

      2. I have no reason to believe that Petersen wants the SC job. But one thing that I know is that he wanted it after they fired Sark. He would have taken the job in a heartbeat if Haden had not let him know point blank that SC didn’t want him in those 2 interviews that he had with Haden prior to when Washington hired him. SC was the first interview that Petersen agreed to and it would have been the last if SC would have treated with respect. The way I understood it, he had already agreed to the salary. But then Haden went public after the first interview and said that he was unimpreesed with Petersen in the first interview. He trashed him publicly.
I don’t think LR will be gone after this year. But I do believe that if he were to quit, SC would have an inside track because Cohen(although she wasn’t the AD at Washington at the time), played a big part in his hiring and after he quit, she was on very good terms with him(good friends) and even let him stay on at Washington as an adviser.
The one good thing I see coming out of this catastrophe of a season is that Grench won’t be back. The only way I see LR not coming back is if he decides that he doesn’t want to come back. That is a possibility.

      3. You don’t always need a shitload of 4 and 5 star recruits, most of them feel so goddamn entitled they don’t put forth the effort, nothing wrong with 2 and 3 star recruits as long as the coach has a history of developing them

    2. I like your cut CR, but I’ll lay it straight, if you don’t go to the Berkeley game, I really can’t break it down for you. That game I can only imagine was like veining a drug. It was pure magic and letting Cal fan know it was that thing I’ll hold tight in my memory. Fight the fuck on.

  7. ‘@LincolnRiley love ya, but #DorianSinger had 3 catches for 9 yards though he was all-conference at Arizona last year. You don’t need go 4-deep at WR, RB, and DB. Try recruiting some talented 300 lb offensive and defensive linemen.

    1. It’s really hard to get the great ‘big uglies’ when other programs are paying for them and you’re just trying to persuade them to come to your school. The kids will go where the money is.
