Notes: USC-UCLA Gets Kickoff Time

The USC-UCLA game will kick off at 12:30 p.m. and be televised by ABC.

The Crosstown Rivalry dodged a bullet because potential TV times were 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Now what will the crowd be like with both teams having disappointing seasons? Plus, it might rain.

  1. Back in the day, (Mckay and Prothro), USC-ucla was viewed as perhaps the the best game in college football. It always had a kickoff time around 1 pm or so, and it drew a national audience. I am glad that we at least have the appropriate kickoff time back.

Whatever bowl game we are looking at, I am guessing that Miller Moss will be the starter. It is still hard to fathom just how far the team has sunk this year. I am tempted to say there needs to be a complete do-over on the O-line. They couldn’t pass protect or open holes for the RBs. Scottie, give them an F on your report card.

Without Caleb, yesterday’s game would have been something like 56-10.

      1. Since the bowl will be third tier at best, I am assuming that he and Riley will reach the conclusion that it won’t merit Williams risking injury.

  2. I sincerely hope CLR takes a long, hard, look in the mirror at the end of this disaster of a season and realize that anything more than two losses at a school like USC is unacceptable, unless the team is decimated by season ending injuries at some key positions. His responses after losses tells me a great deal about his personal makeup and it is not the makeup of a true leader of an organization, no matter how big or small. This constant spin and rationalization of we’re a couple of plays here and there from winning is fool’s gold. CLR, let me clue you in on something. Last year you were a couple of plays away from losing to Oregon State and Cal. This year you were two, two point conversions away from losing to Arizona and Cal. Let that sink in. You are what you are. And as of this morning USC is a 7-4 team that is mediocre at best.

  3. Just what Wiley needed was a wild-eyed female in his face after losing.

Reading some disenchantment from USC fans. I bet $75 on them to win the National Championship (at 50/1) which was foolish and unrealistic. Riley is the guy. Stay the course ✌️

    1. And Don’t @ me with any fanboy BS! I trolled Charmin Soft Hugs Helton, President Halfsquat, and Bohner as hard as anyone on twitter for two years.

    2. CR, you got them at 50-1?
      In June you I bet $200 @ 12-1 and also bet $100 @ 30-1 on basketball.
I truly didn’t or don’t expect either but while in Vegas…WTH.

  5. As CR said – stay the course – this is not going to get easier for Riley with the Big10 looming <10 mos. hence. He realizes now that his assumption in leaving the Big12 for the Pac12 would avoid the SEC merge only to find out now he's facing the same. He knows that better than all of us. He knows Williams is gone mid-December. He knows his defense was a disaster because his loyalty trumped his job. He has coached three Heisman Trophy winners – I don't sense he's concerned about Williams leaving as much as his (Riley's) strategy this year being a mess from the start. Others have noted the lack of size on both sides of the line.

Let's see how these next two games play out because right now as bad as it looks for USC – bel-air tech is in their usual meltdown. USC needs to fins Brian Cushing

Love the 'bolts' but glad to see the DET Lions win and go to 7 – 2

  6. Bobby’s sister needs to get a life, preferably in another universe.

Boomer sooner…where people cheated in the Oklahoma land rush in 1889 to get land before the official start of each race. That’s why they were called “Sooners”. Glad they celebrate that every day. Not much has changed…LOL
