It’s Time For More Staff Changes

Now that D’Anton Lynn has been hired, the obvious follow-up needs to be brought up again.

When does he start making defensive staff changes?

If Lynn has any juice at all, and he shouldn’t have taken the job if he doesn’t, then he needs to start purging the defensive staff.

And since I am bringing this up again, I might as well mention this: When does USC get new strength coaches?

  3. The remaining football staff are Lincoln Riley’s friends, he’s not getting rid of any of them. If it weren’t for media pressure, Alex Grinch would still be on staff… Trust! Riley sees nothing wrong with the offensive, or defensive lines, because he plans to outscore everyone, it’s the Mike Leach way!

    1. No one was gonna mind one bit if Riley’s finesse approach led to a 39-38 victory over UCLA —but it lead to a 38-20 loss. Our guys were getting pushed around in the last six games cuz they weren’t physically prepared for the fight. If Riley can’t see that [or if the AD doesn’t force him to see that] 2024 —with LSU, Penn State, Michigan, Notre Dame and Wisconsin on the schedule—is gonna be one, long embarrassment for USC football.

      8. I think LR really did come over to SC with that mindset(that he can win an NC just by outscoring everyone). I don’t think he believes that anymore. I think that this year was a revolution(a paradyme shift) in his thinking. He still had one of the best offenses in the nation and he almost lost his last 6 games. And he paid for it with football writers calling him a fraud and other names. This is a guy who is sensitive about what people say about him. I don’t think that he ever wants to go through another season like this one. He did try and fix the defense by bringing a lot of really good players after 2022. He made a mistake on one decision that made life miserable for him: He kept Grench. That was a huge mistake. Let’s see what happens in the future.

  6. Spoke to a donor – he stated Mike Caruso is livid at how this season played out. He made sure Cohen understood what Riley better understand that he has 2 years to clean this up or goodbye. That he (Riley) was selected with Caruso’s blessing because he (Riley) was seen as the best potential head coach for USC. That Riley is in charge of a legacy program richer than OK. That Riley squandered this entire season and a returning Heisman Trophy winner because of his misguided loyalty to an incompetent friend who hadn’t done a single thing to improve in anticipation of a new season.

    Riley’s entire future hinges on this opportunity at USC. He is in a very unenviable situation of his own hubris – he has never lost this many games in an entire season as a head coach.

    Those braying that he is intent on retaining the others who came west with him – huh? Again Riley knows this is all on him. He has to move fast to prepare for next year. . If he thought the pressure is severe then get ready for meeting not just the LA press but all those Big 10 dailies. .

      If he doesnt like the results, he should look in the mirror, or do something to fire Folt, who is in way over her head.

  7. The sign of a poorly managed organization is throwing tons of money at a situation and not getting results. That is what USC under Folt does. Because she has no track record of success at anything.

Diversity, equity, inclusion, queer and transgender ideology and all the rest of the whacko ideologies out there…….That’s the only “success” any of these public schools and universities have today. Just go on an Ivy league campus with a microphone and ask questions and you’ll see how smart these kids really are. At UCLA, you can get a degree in Literature without ever taking a course in Shakespear. But you can’t get it without taking all the queer studies courses.
