A Big Body Flips From USC

Deyvid Palepale, a three-star 315-pound defensive tackle, has flipped his commitment from USC to Michigan.

This has been rumored for awhile. I guess Palepale won’t be making USC bigger on defense. USC and Michigan fighting over a three star. Can’t always trust those rankings.

Keep an eye on wide receiver Xavier Jordan of Sierra Canyon. He’s another commitment that could flip, probably to Utah.

      2. It’s hard to say. When I look at his film he looks phenomenal. But if you watch films of him in practice and look at his teammates, compared to him they look like freshmen in high school standing next to a senior in college. If that’s the kind of opponents that he is playing against in each game, then we’ll just have to wait and see how he does.

      7. I really think that LR is a great coach. But he made a mistake this last year(bringing back Grench) which could cost him his career. It definitely has (at least temporarily) ruined his reputation as a coach. I hope he gets things straigtened out but I’m beginning to wonder.

  7. D.P. is a really good player.He’s going to be a star. I don’t know if this is true or not but I heard that he flipped because SC was no longer interested in him. He had a incident whereby he twitted something that his school didn’t like and they threw him off the team for this whole season. Ever since that happened SC showed no interest in him. SC lost a really good player.

    1. When is SC going to figure out that if Oregon(and a lot of other schools) offer bags of cash for the 4 and 5 stars while SC offers nickles and dimes, SC will end up getting the 3 and 4 stars. You’re not going to beat a team with 4 and 5 stars if you have 3 and 4 stars. The rest of those teams must be rolling on the floor laughing about how SC can’t seem to get their NIL going.

  16. If USC cant turn around recruiting, Riley is doomed. The lack of ability to dominate West Coast recruiting and land in the top 5 nationally, which should be a no-brainer is something that should have been identified a long time ago and resolved.

    Riley brought over his head of recruiting from Oklahoma, is she part of the problem? Or is it the reputation of the program? or the position coaches? At some point there needs to be accountability. Or maybe the full accountability needs to rest with Riley and he needs someone to say enough is enough, get your act together or get out.

    I think things will get better, but not certain of anything and it looks like the program is going to take more hits before things get better.

    Riley’s star status is literally vanished and his reputation is trashed until he proves otherwise. Riley has only inherited a franchise from Stoops, he has never proven himself as a guy who can build or re-build a program. Not even a program with as many advantages as USC.
