USC Morning Buzz: Not Everything Should Be Copied

I asked a Pac-12 wide receivers coach to expound on what I said yesterday about UCLA’s cornerbacks being awful, which is relevant because USC needs to hire a secondary coach if it wants to improve the defense.

“When I watched UCLA’s tape, I watched their corners and I thought they were awful,” the Pac-12 coach said. “They were terrible. (D’Anton Lynn) has to hire a good fundamentals coach at USC. He can’t have the same quality like at UCLA. It won’t work.

“I thought USC looked better, fundamentally, at corner even though UCLA had a better defense. That ought to tell you something. It’s not something that was widely discussed but it was a soft spot for UCLA’s defense. USC can’t afford something similar.”

      2. Got to love boob jokes. This one got a high ranking officer of a fortunate 200 company fired, my brother’s former boss. He said it at a company seminar.

“You have two equally qualified female candidates. Both ivy league graduates, energetic, articulate, with a successful and impressive past work history. Which one do you hire? Whoever has the biggest boobs!”

      3. Plow is a misogynistic sack of horse shit. The fucking hunchback will not meet gabby on a level playing field. Instead wants Gabby to fight him in his backyard.

The huncback can’t even recognize that USC’s #1 problem on defense are the LBs. Gametv and Gabby and have been saying it week after week after week. With gentry cobb Davis and tackett coming back we are fuck”ed

      4. Did GabbyObama aka blog pussy and village idiot actually write “Plow is a misogynistic. . .” Well, projection is another sign of a Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), a mental illness. Can you believe that a guy who daily states that wives of other bloggers use a black dildo called Tiny, two headed dildos, toys, lube, ect. thinks others are misogynistic based on a “boob” joke. You can’t get dumber or more hypocritical than Chickenshit Gabby. No wonder he gave up posting under his Gabby username. He was exposed as a pussy and an idiot and now needs to find a new identity, this is typical with those who suffer from NPD.

      5. And yet GameTV can express his thoughts about the team without insulting anyone.

You have no business putting yourself in the same class, much less same sentence, as GameTV.

    2. Donte Williams is not going anywhere, so the cry out for a new defensive back coach will fall upon deaf ears. With the exception of a few offensive skill positions, the Trojans talent level resembles a Mountain West Conference team. So if replacing a position coach based on lack of performance, then Lincoln Riley needs to fire his offensive and defensive line coach, and his recruiting coordinator, not just Williams.

    3. The only thing that fucking idiot Donte Williams taught the Ladies of Troy defensive backs was how to put on and wear womens tights.

Donte Williams and that pineapplehead Shaun Nua are nothing but fucking frauds…worthless!

  1. No way you can justify retaining Donte Williams. He had 4/5 star talent in Domani Jackson, Ceyair Wright, Prophet Brown and Jacobe Covington and failed to develop it. He is also now losing the recruiting wars to local defensive backs to Oregon.

    1. In fairness to Donte, SC is losing to Phil Knight’s wallet because SC won’t pony up when it comes the NIL, the rest of what you said is spot on.

      1. The NCAA needs to put up some regulations when it comes to NIL, like maybe some kind of a salary cap. The NCAA is corrupt and it has always favored the SEC. In the last 17 years(going back to 2006) the SEC won 13 out of 17 NC’s. In the 25 years before that they won 4 NC’s out of 25. There is a reason for that.

      2. The only way to see any type of reform regarding NIL is if Congress is willing to get involved. Until then, it will stay statue quo

  2. Entz has been coaching defense at the college level for over 25 years. Lynn is a former defensive back with ties to the NFL personally and through his father who still coaches. Between the two, and Jen Cohen and her ties, they should be able to identify and land a top cornerback coach. We don’t need Donte. If high school players see that USC is developing their players and putting them into the NFL they will be flocking to the program in droves similar to the Pete Carroll era.

    1. Agreed, Plow Horse. Great players enter programs based on what they think they can get out of it …..not cuz they fell for a line of bullshit from a fast talking [but failed] position coach.

  3. I call bullshit on this supposed conversation Mr. Wolf said he had with a coach regarding USC defensive backs because there’s not a coach in the country worth a shit that will tell you that USC’s defensive backs were anything other than pathetic, a complete embarrassment to the sport of football

      1. I wouldn’t be surprised if the new QB at Oregon got over a million-dollar NIL deal. Money is now the driving force.

  4. You would think the new ‘Pay for Play’ college ranks would have dilluted the ‘product’ a bit but college football looks more popular than ever however it’s a tad harder to root for the old college these monied days

    1. …basically cuz it’s NOT the old college team, John — the core of skill players come from other universities….and are gone before you get to know them….

    2. I heard that Kliff Kingsbury has agreed in principle to be our new OC. I hope that’s not
true. Look at his record. He does not run the ball. If this is true, it’s back to Mike Leach football.

      1. The guy was an HC in the NFL, very few can put that on their resume. Let us see if he can adapt to get the most out of the weapons he will have at his disposal, instead of throwing him under the bus. You talk a lot about Riley being a good coach but some blunders set him back. You should treat KK the same way until he proves you wrong…..just my opinion!

  5. So what outcome are all you right wing legal types hoping for with the possible Supreme Court Ruling on weather a POTUS is immune from prosecution even after he leaves office?
Be careful here because you can’t have it both ways.
