Malachi Nelson’s First List Of Schools

Malachi Nelson’s camp has had preliminary talks with Tulane, TCU, South Carolina, Houston and Cal, according to On3 sports.

Now there are two ways to look at this: Shouldn’t a five-star QB have some bigger/better schools?

On the other hand, this is the most important thing when you transfer: That you get to play.

So maybe Nelson is wise to identify some schools where he might be able to step in and play immediately. I don’t know about Cal because Fernando Mendoza seems pretty locked in as the starter.

But if Nelson finds a school where he can start next season, he should go there.

    1. Only takes one. Pat Haden will always be remembered for.just two plays at USC. 1. Winning two point conversion in the 1975 Bowl that Shelton Diggs scooped out of the dirt to save him. 2. 2013 Tarmacing of Lane Kiffin.

  1. I agree. Some of the throws he was making in high school were definitely next level.

Spring game had a lot of receiver drops. It was not a fair assessment of his body of work.

Still Malachi could be developed more at the next level, especially setting his feet quicker on medium range routes or getting the ball out fast on hot reads certainly, but our O-line didn’t really look like it would be helping him out much either…
