    1. Despite receiving multiple criminal indictments(91)in 2023, Donald Trump thinks he should have been awarded Time’s Person of the Year. The magazine instead gave the honor to Taylor Swift.

The limp dick was on social media whining and crying about it. He sounds like the veg-head from Maui!

      1. I dont love Trump, but those criminal investigations are a complete joke and anyone who thinks otherwise is brainwashed by the media.

How many business owners who stated a valuation for their company and then paid back their loans have EVER been prosecuted for it? NONE. It simply doesnt happen. And any smart business person understands 100% that business valuations are completely subjective. Why do banks hire analysts? They hire them to validate those valuations and if they dont agree, they dont make the loan.

I dont think you are unable to understand that. I think you just want to believe it because you are desperate to call him a criminal, rather than consider the substance of the Trump and Biden policies.

He’ll claim their side is all about democracy, but anyone who’s really paying attention knows that couldn’t be further from the truth.

      6. To be clear, I didnt say that Trump would not be found guilty by a jury of idiots. This government is doing everything it possibly can to destroy Trump, just like they did during his presidency. The uniparty is quite powerful, so I’m not saying Trump wont be found guilty. I’m just saying these charges are 100% political.

If you are a Democrat or Uniparty-ite and think that destroying every semblance of our constitutional process is fine in order to keep Trump out of office, then just say it.

Give me a good alternative to Trump in the Democratic or Republican party and I would vote for them, but the Dems (and a majority of Republicans, like Mitt Romney for example) are incapable of anything but fraud.

This is what it looks like when an Empire loses its economic vitality and prostitutes its currency to runaway greed (the Fed).

OK, that is all the politics I will engage in, back to only commenting on USC football.

They are 3-4 players short of a really good class here.

  4. Well written article by the Athletics’ Antonio Morales and Bruce Feldman on the why’s of the implosion of USXC this past year.

The following is laser accurate of the mess that Riley either ignored or condoned.

==================================================== “The Trojan Walk was also something that came up often in discussions about USC. The players don’t wear team apparel when they get off the bus and walk into the Coliseum. Riley allows the players to dress how they want for home games (they wear team apparel for road games).

“It’s like they think they’re NBA stars walking into an arena,” one of the head coaches said. “They’re wearing designer shorts with dress shoes. Another guy is in tie-dyed sneakers. This team looks like they’re an AAU team.”

Added another staffer: “That promotes individuality. You don’t let Hollywood take over your program. Then you attract the kind of kids where football is not important to them.”

It’s not something that was talked about much in 2022 when USC was having success, but when a season falls so far below expectations, it’s the sort of thing that gets amplified.

When speaking to The Athletic last month, Riley said he believed the perceptions of the culture from the outside are different from what it’s like on the inside. A few days before that, though, in the aftermath of the UCLA game, he said there’s “still clearly a lot of work to be done” in that department.”
    ===================================================

Riley needs a re-incarnated ‘Marv Goux’ to be the ‘dutch uncle’ for the entire team and I agree – Caleb Williams is going to be in for a shock in the NFL esp. if he’s man enough to sign with the CHI Bears instead of some soft NFC South rehabilitation special needs mess of no accountability.

    1. I have questions about how well Caleb will do in NFL or even how high he is drafted. The NFL people have to be concerned about his crying over the spilt milk 2023 season and then hiding from the press after the season didn’t go well for him.

    2. No coach, the perceptions from the outside are that you run a loose ship and this just hammers that point home. You catered to CW and played favorites and you probably lost the team. Helton catered to certain players and played favorites, and lost the team.

The other perception is that you play finesse football. With the latest coaching hires it sure looks like you’re trying to change that perception and play physical football, at least on defense.

When Larry Smith was there and he was allowing the players to wear do rags ( Curtis Conway for one ) and the boosters and alums went ape shit over it, said the team looked like gang bangers.

Or when Kiffin wanted to change the uni and wear the shiny helmets.

USC has worn black shoes with white socks forever , the players used to make fun of ucla wearing white shoes. But with NIL and everything else, those days ae long gone.

      Liked by 5 people

      1. I guess what you are saying is that, overall, the team lacked discipline. It’s true. You can’t just let players do whatever they want to do. LR had no control over Caleb. I can’t prove this but I think Caleb was changing LR’s plays at the LOS because he wanted to throw the ball. For 7 years at Oklahoma they ran the ball 55% of the time under LR. That number slipped to about 47% in 2022 and then once Caleb won the Heisman and decided that he had more authority to do things his way, it slipped further to about 43% in 2023.
Having said that, I will say that it’s harder in this day and age(under this new culture we have in america) to control the player. The convicts are running the prison. The players make far more than any of the professors make and in many cases they make more than the coaches.

I’ll give you an example. You had that incident with the head coach at Oklahoma State(an outstanding coach) whereby he and his 2 sons went fishing in June or July. He was wearing a T-shirt that was totally white except for a small emblem which said OAN. That stood for One America News. It’s a news network and a good one. Somebody took a picture of him and it got into the daily cable news. His top running back(a canadian kid) said “oh this guy is a racist….I can’t play for him”. He was forced to apologize for wearing the T-shirt even though he was he was wearing it out at some lake not on campus. The looneys are running the funny farm in this day and age.

      3. If SC’s punter had to wear his”special cleats” that were white, by the way – Riley could have said, “Fine – but dye ’em black.” You have to show these players who the boss is.

    3. What I thought was interesting was other Pac-12 coaches saying that USC receiver routes are easy to guard. Everyone says Riley is a genius, but I’m not so sure. I agree there is something wrong in the receiver room. How can you not get Zach Branch open all the time with his speed? or Duce with his combo of speed and size?

I have said it before, I would love to hear that KK was fired. I think that guy is the air raid devil whispering gently into Riley’s ear and it is all bad. Someone needs to tell Riley that KK is an idiot loser – look at this track record. Get rid of him.

Easy to grab these quarterbacks then faceless linemen due to easy NIL contracts 4 qbs

    1. Howard is a good quarterback, but more importantly, comes from a well-coached, highly disciplined program … he had to split snaps at times with a highly touted athletic QB and didn’t grouse. Three plays from 11-1 (should have beat Texas). One huge intangible bonus – he can provide the credible no nonsense leadership that has been lacking under Charles Nelson (Riley)…the staff simply needs to have enough sense to back him to the hilt and let any of the ‘all about me’ crowd know that the staff is behind Howard 100% and anyone who wants to go against that can hit the portal.

      1. Has been (and from comments appears I’m not the only one who has observed same…thought you had done so as well?). USC players haven’t been well coached individually or as units since (other than EdO’s brief interim period perhaps) Pete left…Howard will just need a playbook and a staff that backs him when Prima Donna A, B, C & D start whining or not giving effort (well, some blocking would be nice, but one thing at a time given the enormity of the overall task ahead).

    2. I want Miller to beat out the Kansas transfer. Not saying that will be allowed, but that Kansas QB likes to run hard and might get injured. Miller stays at USC and I hope Riley uses him a good amount. Maybe Miller even stays one more year and is the starter in 2025, while that new kid is given a year to develop before he starts?

Legislatures – whether under duress from lawsuits or not – will be the solution to this … the best solution would be to either simply convert college sports into the professional feeder system they are and have been, or else jettison the current system in favor of returning to something more akin to the pre-big money system. Hardly anyone wants the latter, so more likely the former (powers that be will have to figure out how to package football/basketball so that the fans will continue to buy it, else it would become like other sports, which is more akin to the latter scenario, which I personally would prefer).

    1. No. This was Austin Jones’ last year. And Marshawn Lloyd declared for the NFL, while Darwin Barlow and Raleek Brown both hit the portal. Now we don’t have any really experienced RBs, so this is a true point of concern (as is the O-line they will need to run behind – which was a work-in-progress at best and an unmitigated disaster at worst).

Bryan Jackson will now join Quinten Joyner and A’Marion Peterson in the RB room. There’s talent there – but it needs to be developed and honed for Big10 competition. It’s also telling that neither Quinten or A’Marion could push Austin or Marshawn for playing time.

Our running attack, which should have been a strength this year (if it were utilized) has now turned into a potential weakness…

  12. It is a well balanced class and there is still Feb signing period+ the transfer portal additions. With new defensive coaches come also new ways and means to success, they have records of being very physical, not just technique oriented.
They do neede to add a q/b with one spoiled puppy bailing on his promise.

  13. Looks like Pellum to Oregon. Like Brown, he plays the Y/Z, and would be backing up Branch. …X Jordan, however, is the best X receiver (SE) in CIF, and should be relied on early.

  14. Let’s get something straight had Caleb played behind a above average line. Would the narrative been different yes. Now the question is he mentally ready to lead a NFL team? That will be on the team that drafts him. The only thing I can say is hopefully the usc experience will only help him improve as a person and player. Remember LR always dictated who was available to the media not the player. He can’t do that in the NFL My prediction is because of his skills and arm talent he will not be a bust mark my words. Hopefully his OC will tailor the offense around what he does best instead of making him into something that he has gone to be elite which going through progressions from the pocket. Which he didn’t show much of because of his Superman plays. His crying was a combination of his desires to win and his pourous OL n Defense not giving him chance to shine. Come on give the kid a break when you go to SC you are the chosen one whether you want it or not

    1. Eric: The crying after the game didn’t bother me at all. Caleb is a highly competitive, emotional player. The pouting on the bench was troublesome. But the thing that is most concerning is his inability to find an open receiver and deliver the ball within 3 seconds. If he does not develop this skill set, he will be a bust in the NFL. If he does, we are looking at the second coming of Patrick Mahones.
