Aidan Chiles Turns Down USC

Former Oregon State QB Aidan Chiles reaffirmed his commitment to Michigan State after rumors Lincoln Riley wanted him to flip to USC.

This must be inspiring to Miller Moss that Riley wanted Will Howard and Chiles.

Riley did say he wanted two quarterbacks but Howard is going to start wherever he goes and Chiles is starting at Michigan State.

So what it continues to say is that Riley doesn’t want Moss to start next season. At least he will play in the Holiday Bowl.

      1. My guess: 600 yards would put him in the running for any QB position in the country, including USC…..

  2. Miller Moss has a very accurate arm. He is also very smart, competitive, composed under pressure, and has leadership capabilities. Don’t count him out of any fair quarterback competition. The question is whether he will be given one. My guess is Riley wants someone who can scramble and won’t accept Moss. That may be his and his team’s downfall.

    1. If the team comes together AS A TEAM under Miller …and plays hard…. and wins the Holiday Bowl for a change…..Riley would be dumb to break up that chemistry over a fixed & preconceived idea of what the QB has to look like….

      3. I have an idea here.

        The rumor is that Will Howard will announce his commitment after the USC bowl game, so it doesnt steal the limelight from Moss.

        I think that maybe Riley will be trying to give playing time to both Howard and Moss this year. Howard is the starter, but give Moss enough playing time that he can compete for the starter in 2025. JuJu comes in 2025 and he needs time to learn the system, etc, so Moss is given a chance to start with JuJu in support. That would be Moss’s redshirt senior year.

        If Riley brought in another QB in 2025 that wanted to play for more than one year, JuJu would not be happy, but with Moss in his last year 2025, JuJu will feel he can compete to take the starter role.

        It would be easier to have Moss as QB in a year where the defense is a but further along, which hopefully happens by 2025.

I agree and I’ll wager if he begins to lean that way and word leaks out he’s going to encounter blowback of citing his stubbornness in not listening to other per his ‘committing’ to ‘his buddy’ Grinch. Riley’s on a short plank to produce and it best start this coming Wednesday evening a full 7.5 underdog – to counter the sure to arise anger from the Trojan Empire base.

    2. actually Moss can move pretty well…he is not a statue back there…he also gets rid of the ball to open receivers better than williams,who 1st wanted a home run ball,Miller knows 1st downs move the ball down the field.

  5. I’ hoping Miller Moss plays lights out in the Bowl and becomes SC’s starting QB next year. That would teach LR a valuable lesson he needs to learn before he can ever be considered a great coach!

  6. The QB could be Josh Allen and this team won’t be bowl eligible next year. Both lines will be overwhelmed next year and we have no LB’s. Where will Lincoln go in the transfer portal next year?
