My Holiday Bowl Pick

This is a weird game to analyze.

Too many players missing. Stars out for both teams. Not a whole lot at stake. I’m sure the Excuse Brigade already has their alibis ready for Lincoln Riley if he loses.

It feels like motivation will be a big factor today. I think USC’s young players are excited because many of them will play significant amounts for the first time this season. So they motivated.

But I suspect Louisville is even more motivated. They traveled farther and the Holiday Bowl means more to them. I don’t think Louisville coach Jeff Brohm will mail it in like Riley did against UCLA.

So even though it could go either way, I’m taking Louisville, 31-24.

  1. The QB guru Steve Clarkson championed his QB son and other California recruits going to Louisville with the HC who eventually left for Cincinnati. Jeff Brohm took a step down coming to his alma mater Louisville from Purdue. Louisville has had a good season.

    1. Is it a bad sign that USC’s D-Line looked winded after the first play?

  2. Anyone else sick and tired of seeing the Towel Wavers? Doesn’t Riley understand how Middle School this looks? Totally embarrassing, almost as bad as the grand entrance the team made before playing Alabama in 2016.

      1. I guess maybe the towel wavers arent working their magic!

If Riley doesnt get rid of the towel wavers, I might need to throw in the towel on this team. What kind of an idiot thinks that is the way to motivate the team?

      2. The VILLAGE Idiot. When I mocked them a month or two ago, she cried about my post. Claimed it was a great way to motivate the team and fans. She’s clueless.

The towel waving is sooooo UCLA.

    1. Turns out Miller is A Football Player….. and so are several of the new guys around him when given the chance.
If we get ONE more great o-line player* and a great running back we’re right in the thick of Big Ten race in 2024.
