And Lincoln Riley improves to 2-4 in bowl games!

Based on tonight, I’d rather USC go into next season with a QB who is loyal and understands the traditions/importance of rivalries than some one-year wonder

Imagine Tailback U. having a little-known QB come into the game on 4th and 1 to run the Wildcat? Where is the running game?

Miller Moss bounces back from his costly interception with another TD pass. He’s got 5 now, the most for a USC QB in his first start.

It’s halftime. Miller Moss has 4 TDs. If you think he looks great, ask Lincoln Riley why he has pursued a multitude of QBs in the transfer portal (Will Howard, Cam Ward, Maalik Murphy, Adrian Chiles). And those guys expect to start at QB wherever they transfer.

OK, Louisville’s secondary looks awful. How long did that TD pass hang in the air from Miller Moss? It’s 28-14, USC.

The feel-good atmosphere take a hit as Louisville exposes the defense on a 9-play, 73-yard drive. It’s 21-14, USC, with 1:56 left in the half.

Kyron Hudson blocks a punt and catches a TD pass. A rare double.

Tahj Washington is showing how to play in a bowl game even though you declared for the draft. He has 2 TD catches and USC leads 14-7.

USC gets a turnover and Miller Moss throws a short pass to Tahj Washington, who finds a way to the end zone. Good for Washington, who actually showed up and played today.

Right down the field by Louisville for a TD. Anyone surprised?

Denis Lynch missed a FG. USC still doesn’t need a special teams coach.

Caleb Williams, Brenden Rice and Calen Bullock are at the game. How nice of them.

    1. There were a number of good open field tackles. The face mask penalty came at a bad time. I liked the 5 man front with 3 down linemen. We lost contain on the edges occasionally, but they are a very good running team. Lots of teachable plays – especially the punch out of the ball at the end. When a QB gets intercepted at the goal line like Miller was, we used to say that he “…Got caught with his hand in the Cookie Jar.” That ball should have been up on the outside shoulder but it was down and inside, a little late too. Miller threw a few darts that were impressive. In the beginning he was a little high, but chalk it up to the excitement. We got a little glimpse how fast Deuce is, that was a great throw. The mismatch in the end zone with our tall receiver was brilliant. The Special Teams were excellent except our kickers could improve. Zach nearly broke a return.
I am very proud of our team. I liked how Caleb was there for his teammates. I understand he’s going to be signing a deal for over $50 million, and I’m OK with that. He just isn’t as indestructible as me, but most people aren’t. Fun game, I am ready for next season!

  2. Way to go Moss you need to show LR you are worthy to be a starter regardless if you get a transfer QB. He is getting the ball out fast and he is showing accuracy in the pocket n poise. LR stay with this Moss kid n find a 3 star QB to be his back up

  4. LR don’t go get another QB unless he’s going be like Moss willing to develop and wait his turn, we need more Miller Mosses he is the starter in my book it’s going to take another QB to learn the offense n get a rythmn with these receivers Moss already has a rapport. LR do the right thing and shore up QB room with people who want to compete not given a position because your a 4 year starter at another university. If we win this game will vault us into something for 2024 recruiting cycle. Fight On

  5. Coaches should be getting evaluated just as players tonight. Defensive coaches inability to teach anyone how to properly set the edge and keep contain is grounds for removal. Such a basic concept.

    1. The secondary looks a little better, but the d-line and edge are still an issue. Linebackers are a non-factor in the defense.

I know Taylor Mays is coaching the safeties, was he also coaching the corners? Maybe he can coach under the direction of the new CB coach?

Not sure that Nua deserves to remain. We have real problems with run blocking. Is Monheim coming back next year?

      1. I don’t wanna sound like a whiner —actually I don’t mind sounding like a whiner at all —- but a lot of our alleged inability to control the edge was the result of blatant holding —- which Louisville got away with all night.

  6. CLR, if you haven’t figured out that Miller Moss is your QB for 2024 then you are suffering from DADS disease…Dumb As Dog Shit. The hell with another transfer QB, use the scholarship on a defenseive/offensive lineman.

    1. I think Riley should consider that Moss is the kind of guy who could be the heart and soul of a revitalized USC.

Miller Moss has a heart of integrity and loyalty.

      Fight On!!!!!!

LJ even said I will drink to that!!

    The season of upsets continues.

    The Valley Kid did it.

Now we know why the kid Nelson left. Moss was fantastic. An A from me not A- or B+ Mr Wolf.

Fight On and let’s all climb aboard tbe bandwagon.

    Happy 2024!!

  8. Give me a group of players that come in as freshman, are loyal to the program and one another, work their asses off, and have a commitment to their university, and you will have a great team. Pollute it with primadonna mercenaries looking for a quick score with NIL money, and you will see exactly what we saw this season. No loyalty, no heart, no determination. FIGHT ON!

  9. After all that has gone on this season it sure is nice to end it on a positive note. It’s been quite awhile that watching a SC game was entertaining. It’s sad to realize that LR doesn’t appreciate the importance of a good defense in getting to the CFP and doesn’t make a change until forced to.
