Michael Jackson Commits To Georgia

Donte Williams is not the only one going to Georgia.

Wide receiver Michael Jackson announced today he committed to the Bulldogs.

Jackson is another one of those USC receivers who seemed to have a lot of potential but didn’t get a lot of opportunities. He caught 17 passes in each of the past two seasons so wherever he went was probably going to be a better situation.

Remember, Jackson wore No. 13 at USC but when Caleb Williams transferred, Williams was told to make a deal with Jackson if he wanted to wear No. 13. Williams eventually did and Jackson switched to No. 9.

  1. MJ3 got a raw deal, he is probably better than the receivers we are bringing in via the portal. I pin most of the problem on CW, who only really relied on a few receivers. I think that the NFL is going to expose the shortcomings of CW, he doesnt go through reads effectively at all.

I think that MM will do a much better job of finding multiple receivers and my bet is that his passing statistics by the end of next year (assuming no major injury) are better than CW’s.

USC needs to build depth at the wide receiver position with younger guys willing to wait their turn under the young stars – Jakobi, Duce, Branch, Lemon, Hudson.

If every room on the team had the quality and depth of the receiver room we would be in good shape.

  2. I guess the clownish theory that if you’re a qb or receiver focused on the next level, you go with Lincoln Riley. Players, parents and opposing coaches know offensive coordinator LR is supposedly focused on learning how to be a complete head coach…to “now” include defense and line play. Players want to win a natty and they want NIL bucks. LR is not equipped to deliver either one

  3. I thought MJ3 was a very solid player. Good hands, speed, and elusiveness. Was effective catching the ball and on end around plays and punt returns. The fact that Georgia offered him speaks volumes about his talent.

  4. Good Donte Williams can recruit the USC transfer portal. Good luck to MJ3, but more excited about Duce, Zach Branch, Hudson, Lemon, and Lane. Most talented WR group in Big Ten in 2024.

      1. Let’s not forget Kyron Hudson either. I still say they should go after the white receiver in Idaho. This kid has a 36″ vertical leap, he runs a 10.3 in the 100 meter and he’s about 6’2″ and 200 pounds and he’s still uncommitted although the recruiting crystal ball says that he is going to Michigan. I’d, at least, put out some feelers out there to see if he is interested in SC.
