Isaiah Raikes, a defensive lineman from Texas A&M, has committed to USC.
Raikes (6-2, 320) appeared in 12 games last season but started only one. He had 17 tackles and one sack.
For USC’s sake, the Trojans will hope he makes a bigger impact than the last Aggies’ player they took via the portal. Defensive lineman Anthony Lucas, a five-star prospect, started at the beginning of the season then saw his role diminish and finished with just 10 tackles overall.
Hope he’s not another retread…….fingers are crossed!

She would never be that honest.
Just look at what she wrote above. Her mind was the only one that went to “sick”, yet she continues to point the finger at me. All she does is lie.

Looks like a heavier version of Warren Sapp. Reminds me of “the fridge.” Seems nimble for his weight. We need someone to clog the middle and this guy at 320 lbs should help. Good pick-up.

We need that big guy in the middle. Really good news.
Is the Caleb rumor actually true???

We don’t need someone who failed where they were at. This is all LR can do as he can’t seem to attract HS kids, or be welcomed at local high schools.

He’ll go where the money is the greatest. My hope is that it won’t be SC.

End up on a bad team this year or wait another year to end up on bad team anyways, what do you think Caleb will do? Stay and jeopardize his health behind a suspect o-line and pissed off fanbase or be the savior of the Commanders/Patriots/Falcons/Bears/Vikings/Browns/
Raiders?

I wouldn’t blame the O-Line for all the sacks CW had last year. He makes himself a target when he holds onto the ball so long. As far as Raikes is concerned. We will just have to wait and see. The guy has not shown himself to be a superstar so far. Maybe this is his breakout year

After seeing some film on Raikes I’m impressed. In high school he was a bull rusher extraordinaire. He gets into the backfield in a hurry. Rarely did they ever block him with just one man. But he went through those double teams like a hot knife through butter. They also used him a 325 pound RB. His senior year. Offensively, he rushed 62 times for 274 yards and 8 TD’s. This guy may turn out to be a diamond in the rush. Hopefully

Raikes has a lot better chance of being coached up with this incoming staff than he would with Grinch.Good luck to him.

Scooter,
If Bear returns and you put this new guy on the line, they can push the oline back to disrupt the run. Need three more of these type of guys.

Raikes has had some PT, never as a starter. He backed up Nolan who transferred to Ole Miss. He could be good but he is only a one year rental.

High 3-star HS recruit. Position of need of additional size and bodies. Is USC going to replace the DL coach?

Charles: I don’t think they plan to replace Shaun Nua, the d line coach. He brought in this guy and flipped a couple of high school d line recruits.

I think that the D-Line coach is a good coach. He was assistant of the year a couple of years ago at Michigan

Hard to get excited about another second string footballer hitting the Portal, but at least it is an indication that Wiley now realizes that football is not just about scoring points

If he was productive, do you think Texas A&M would allow him enter the portal? Don’t be fooled by the name of his former school, or his high school star rating. Lincoln Riley has done absolutely nothing to build a foundation for the future. He’s been doing patch work with average transfer portal players, with the exception of a couple of receivers and Caleb Williams.

Hopefully he will be able to take on two lineman and free up Bear to use speed n strength to disrupt the QB and actually get into backfield n stop the run oriented Big teams who play physical. We still need 3 more lineman. Looking at DC scheme looks like Fountain Shelby Newby Peevy should be able contribute n make the impact we need to be competitive moving forward.

When is Moss entering the Portal after this latest insult?

The issue is not necessarily that Moss is not the QB1 right now… it is we have no backup at all. This is a great signing. Moss welcomes competition and Maiava was a redshirt freshman and will be a great QB2 unless he outperforms Moss. I think Maiava is a better choice than what Howard would have been.

right, Moss loved holding a clipboard the last 2 years. Now he proves he should be #1 and they pay for a replacement! Maiava isn’t coming to be a scrub.

Moss has his degree. He has demonstrated a very high level of loyalty. LR will continue to leave him as number 2. It’s time for MM to transfer to a HC that wants him. He can start at a lot of other schools and this will be his last chance to see the field. Best wishes MM – a real Trojan, unlike our last QB!

The Holiday Bowl was a great performance but that was one game. I don’t think that makes him the starter automatically but does put him as #1 going into Spring. Who would you like to be the backup… Jensen? Under Carroll we were dominant because we had the best players competing every week of the season. I look forward to great competition… the more players we have at every position that are fighting for playing time the better. No starting jobs should be given without truly earning them with on-going performance.
