USC Saturday Buzz: The Perfect Flip Flop Gets Executed But Who Will Care?

USC superfan Colin Cowherd executed a perfect flip flop this week. He said Thursday that Caleb Williams did not want to go to Chicago. Then he said Friday that Williams’ camp informed him they were not against Chicago.

This goes back to what I said earlier in the week about misinformation with Williams. And what sources does Cowherd have? If he had good information, why walk it back Friday?

Williams will go where he is drafted. But don’t take my word for it. This is what NFL insider Ian Rapoport (who unlike Cowherd has sources) said:

“The Heisman trophy winner enters the process excited for whoever ends up selecting him.”

  • I mentioned in Friday’s column the rumor was the Raiders were going to hire UCLA assistant coach DeShaun Foster as running backs coach. Well, it happened. And Bruins fans are not happy. Athletic director Martin Jarmond, once a fan and media darling, is under fire for keeping Chip Kelly, who is talking to NFL teams about offensive coordinator jobs.
  • So what happens to Raiders running backs coach Kennedy Polamalu (a former USC player/coach)? I hear he is having knee replacement surgery.

      2. Good article by Dan Weber on how much money SC is making mostly off of football. They were #13 in the country from 2020-2022(two of those seasons were not good at all). Oregon is not even on the list. Neither is Miami(another big spending school). Florida State and Tennessee who are being investigated for spending violations are 19 and 14. You make money in college football. SC should start playing the game of spending more in their NIL.
