USC Weekend Notes: Has Andy Enfield Made Decision On Bronny James?

Bronny James was more than respectable against UCLA last night but played only 14 minutes.

Has Andy Enfield decided James won’t be back and he doesn’t want to invest more time in James? Bronny made his only shot, had two rebounds, two assists and no turnovers. He had a +8 plus-minus rating.

It seems to me Enfield’s made a decision on James because he’s kept his minutes down in recent games.

  • Former USC basketball player Alyssa Pili, the sister of former Trojans defensive tackle Brandon Pili, had 23 points to lead Utah past USC today, 74-68. Pili scored 37 points in the first meeting between the teams.

JuJu Watkins was 10 for 30 from the field for USC and scored 30 points.

  • USC leads Portland, 7-3, in the 5th inning today and could win its second straight game after an 0-5 start.

  1. Enfield may suspect players will respond positively to the prospect of a reduction in James’ playing time….

  2. JuJu has another 10 for 30 night, that is not going to endear her to her teammaes “Hey, if you’re cold stop shooting, give it up, you don’t have to be the superstar (like Celeb) every play

And of course another Enfield dig by you-know-who. Dandy Andy is used to the one-and-done players, and probably has another one in Collier along with ‘Brainy,’ so I would believe Enfield wants to use his full arsenal at this point, and besides, Brainy is the #3 guard at best
