Morning Buzz: A Fresh Perspective On USC

Sometimes, it helps to get a different perspective. Even the smallest things that we always take for granted are noticed by a first-timer.

I stumbled across this video of an English soccer fan attending his first college football game, and it just happened to be the USC-Washington slug out at the Coliseum last season.

When he sees a “Fight On” sign on the USC campus, he says, “This I’m immediately not a fan of. `Fight On’ feels very just, it’s too positive for me.”

When a USC player drops an open pass: “He’s bottled it. He has absolutely bottled it.”

And he’s offended near the end of the game, when the fans are dancing and spelling out Y-M-C-A during a timeout as the popular song by the Village People is played.

“If someone around me was trying to do the YMCA (during a) Leeds (football game that was) 1-1 in a playoff final with 10 minutes to go, I’d probably scream at them.”

      Ken Hart

Hey dumb dumb, this is only his second year of recruiting and the first was short because he came in after recruiting had already begun for that class. It can take a while for a coach coming into a new conference to establish recruiting roots. Stop being such an AH.

    2. Why are y’all picking on Ken Hart, this was a positive comment about Wolf becoming a fanboy so whenever an SC receiver drops a pass he too can scream out, “He bottled it, he absolutely bottled it!”

      1. I agree, John. At least with Ken, he states his thoughts on Wolf’s post and that’s it. I’m not sure he’s ever responded to anyone who replied.

He sure as heck isn’t posting the same thing for years and nothing close to feces videos. But Grabbbyy did beat me to responding about it being LR’s third year. LOL

Time really flies the older we get.

      2. LOL, Kenny Boy writes the same things every time he posts, he attacks Wolf for not being a 7 layer bean dip, white Chablis, pom pom waving fanboy. What the dullard hasn’t figured out yet is that Wolf does what he does on purpose to get a rise out of the fanboys

    3. Coming from a heretic and an apostate, that’s a bold statement, Ken. Why do you not follow scripture by ordaining and employing female “pastors”, against the Word and against what Paul admonished? Focus more on that plank, Ken.

I want to think Biden voters are smart enough to know that. But I doubt it.

Between Obuma and Biden, I am suprised this world and country have not fallen into hell, wait it has. Obuma was the biggest liar in the world. What pissed me off even more about that no good bum, was when he said America is not a Christian Country. He was cow towing to the muslims. He is so dead wrong on this. This country was and is based on Christianity.

      4. I don’t know about that, Pasadena. I don’t think he was that far off. More and more people are saying they don’t subscribe to any Christian belief.

I think the Timeout & Participation Trophy generations were turned off when they realize you don’t get everything you pray for. They were so used to mommy & daddy never saying, “No” that when God did it, they freaked out and claimed He doesn’t exist.

I’m Catholic so naturally I’m most familiar with the Catholic mass …but…I attend lots of religious ceremonies with friends — I’ve been to a ton of Protestant & Jewish weddings and funerals —- and the only time I’ve ever been treated as an outsider was at a Muslim funeral in Oakland. It really left me with an uneasy feeling… [but I had a great Muslim Taxi driver the last time I was in Pasadena — and I remember him saying, “These protestors, these angry people —that is not what Islam is about”]…..

  4. Dartmouth voted 13-2 to unionize and authorized the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) to bargain on their behalf. A powerful and politically connected organization, the SEIU represents nearly 2 million employees over 100 occupations. The team is expected to present a list of demands, potentially including a student wage, more medical coverage and better treatment in a variety of team-related issues.

Such demands could spark players on other college teams to follow suit with similar efforts, charting a path for all college athletes to unionize as employees, legal experts say.

“It’s ironic that you have billions of dollars flowing through college football and it might be Dartmouth basketball that upends the system,” Gabe Feldman, a Tulane sports law professor and an expert on such NCAA matters, told Yahoo Sports in the fall.

“If the NLRB determines Dartmouth basketball players are employees, then there is a very strong argument that all private school DI athletes are employees, including walk-ons,” he continued. “The question then would be, ‘Does the NLRB determine that all of athletes, public schools as well, are employees?’”

Yeah, college sports will be just fine, right Georgie Girl ?

    1. It’s more than just money.

What will the networks do when they have a game between LSU & Missouri, and LSU goes on strike ? Or half the SEC, BIG 10 & BIG 12 ? Do they then show reruns of I Love Lucy ? Demand their money back ?

Do you really think schools like Hawaii, the New Mexico’s, UTEP and so on are going to bow to the SEIU’s demands ? Do you think schools like this can afford it ?

You go to USC and are handed a FREE education worth half a million dollars or more, get NIL and you want to also be paid with benefits on top of that ?

No wonder college coaches are leaving, who wants to deal with this shit.

I don’t need to like him, but I hope he does better at not rubbing so many people the wrong way and showing the door to anyone who doesn’t agree with him on everything. Want him to be secure enough to have smart people around him and listen to them, even when they don’t see eye to eye on something.

But even if he doesn’t, he will still be better than what we have now!
