When Do Constant Visits Translate To Recruiting Success?

For all the hundreds of recruits that seem to visit USC year-round, isn’t it shocking that Lincoln Riley isn’t getting Top 5 recruiting classes?

  • USC plays its home games in Irvine. The other team that plays in Irvine (UC Irvine) is 9-0.
  • Today is actor Dean Stockwell’s birthday. I’ve written about how he was an unofficial mascot for the great Crenshaw 715 American Legion team that won the national title in 1951.

At the bottom of this entry, I wrote about his legendary first encounter with actor Errol Flynn.

  1. Stockwell and Flynn were great in Kipling’s story of “Kim”…but Paul Lukas kinda steals the movie as the Holy Lama on a quest.

Stockwell’s best role was as the Mafia Chief who’s happy to get sent to the penitentiary to escape his wife.

    R. I. P. Dean Stockwell.

      1. Bishop: ”You speak treason.”

        Robin Hood: ”Fluently.”

Prince John: “You call me traitor?”

Robin Hood: “You…and every man here who supports you.”

  2. Hey dumb dumb, this is only his second year of recruiting and the first was short because he came in after recruiting had already begun for that class. It can take a while for a coach coming into a new conference to establish recruiting roots. Stop being such an AH.

Whose fault? I’d say it is SC’s fault. Either play the game or get out. You’re not doing anything wrong by playing the game because it’s all legal today under NIL. Also. it’s pretty hard to lose money when you’re dealing with big time college football. I saw one study that said SC football made 146 million last year and they were only 13th in the nation in profits.

Big business always spends money to make money and college football is big business. Kids are not going to turn down hundreds of thousands of dollars(or even millions) to go to their boyhood dream school and they shouldn’t. They may never get the chance to make that money again. All it takes is one major injury. This is football not badmitton.
