It’s Not So Cal

USC women’s basketball is ranked No. 3 in the nation with a chance for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

But what USC and Nike did to the uniforms is an abomination. When the Trojans wear a yellow uniform, the jersey says “Southern Cal.”

Even worse, when USC wears its black uniforms, the jersey says “So Cal.”

For decades, USC’s official position was not to call it Southern Cal. Now it puts it on a uniform.

How does a team have three different names on its jerseys? USC, Southern Cal and So Cal. And So Cal is just slang. Was putting “Trojans” on one of the uniforms considered too old fashioned?

Someone thought it would be cool to do this. Now USC could be a team that captures the nation’s attention in the NCAA Tournament wearing “Southern Cal” or “So Cal” on its jerseys.

Imagine if USC made it to the Final Four wearing that? Awful.

  5. I love “Southern Cal”! I especially like it since it drives Wolf nuts. If it was good enough for Keith Jackson, then who cares what dumb reason Wolf doesn’t like it.

    1. Although immigrant statistics at the state level are hard to come by it is pretty clear that undocumented (illegal) immigrants are no more dangerous than U.S. citizens and probably commit fewer crimes, and in America (North, that is) every arrestee is entitled to fair representation

      1. Crime in any society is an unavoidable fact of life……but every crime committed by an illegal is avoidable.

        I’m not for mass deportation….but…. each time an illegal is arrested for a crime committed on our streets that person should be deported.

    3. The mass killings by american citizens are something that we have to deal with. We shouldn’t have to deal with mass killings by illegals.

  9. Meanwhile back at the ranch the SC mens’ basketball team readies for ‘Mission Impossible,’ winning 4 games in a row which Nebraska womens’ team almost accomplished recently, so it can be done
