The Julian Lewis Saga Continues

Julian Lewis, the No. 1 QB in the Class of 2025 and USC commitment, has scheduled an official visit to Georgia for May 31, according to SB Live.

“(The) expectation is championships,” Lewis said.

Oh oh. Does anyone feel like Lincoln Riley’s expectations right now are championships?

This feels like it is going to be a saga that will drag out before it gets resolved. And it’s one of the reasons recruiting can be frustrating to follow.

Here’s my question: Why did Lewis even commit so early? He’s visiting colleges all over the country and looking at a lot of schools. So why did he want to be classified as committed to USC?

    1. It’s about the money. Keep showing interest and let the bidding begin. Riley has already said USC is loaded and going in serious, but he also said he has alternatives he likes if USC gets outbid.

      1. Committing early probably has something to do with the money but with this kid I think it goes deeper than the money. I also think that he is looking at the writing on the wall. This guy is a QB coach guru. If you want to go to the next level, LR is the path to follow. But I will agree……one of the reasons why SC isn’t getting all those Mater Dei and SJB players that they always got is that old Brinks Truck.

      1. The whole reason he committed early flew right over your head, typical……numerous had to call out your stupidity….quit being a pest.

  1. This choosing quarterbacks is not akin to ‘Johnny Carson or bust,’ where he was truly one of a kind, never to be replaced.

If Lewis turns out to be the best, let’s call him 100%, then how do we quantify QBs after him, 95%, 90%, 80%? In other words, the drop-off is not that great

    1. The drop off is really not that great. Actually, Lewis is not rated as the top QB coming out of 2025. I think there’s another guy ahead of him. If they fail to bring in Lewis, they will get someone else. All I’m saying is that with most of those recruits, it’s all about the money. I don’t think that is true about Lewis. If SC offers him nothing, he will go somewhere else. But if SC is in the ballpark, I think he will go to SC because he sees LR as a QB guru.
