Lincoln Riley said tonight offensive lineman Jonah Monheim is moving to center.
It’s an interesting move because Monheim started at left tackle last season and basically been a tackle his entire college career. Usually, left tackle is the most important position on the line.
Also, Monheim’s never played center.
“He’s going to step inside and play center for us,” Riley said. “It will be great for his career long-term as well, so I thought it was a really mature decision on his part.”
The line’s strength was supposed to be Monheim at left tackle. Now he’ll be at center.
- The basketball exodus has begun as forward Kijani Wright entered the transfer portal. Wright averaged 3.9 points and 2.6 rebounds.

I hope Monheim Works out at center because they moved Justin Dedich to center in 2023 and he didn’t work out well at all. He worked out great at guard but not at center.

There’s a reason why Brett Neilon played ahead of Dedich —- Dedich wasn’t exactly made to play center.

MG, won’t a 6’5″ center like Monheim obstruct the view of 6’2″ QB Miller Moss on crossing patterns over the middle? Or are they doing this because 6’4″ Jayden Maiava is going to be the starter?

Don’t forget Toa Lobadahn. Another guy they moved to center and was terrible at center. I hope Monheim works out.

This isn’t Riley’s decision – Lynn did this. Trust the new defensive junta to make choices they feel are best for 2024. They believe they have a better option at left tackle

The Raiders moved Don Mosebar from tackle to center. He’s their best run blocker, why not put him in between the rest of the line? They must expect Muphy to take over at right tackle . . . Or a transfer is on the way to take over a tackle spot.
