USC Morning Buzz: SMU Interested In Andy Enfield

This sounds too good to be true.

Andy Enfield is a “person of interest” in the SMU basketball search for a new coach, according to Pete Thamel and Jeff Borzello of ESPN.

There are multiple candidates but the duo report Enfield is expected to top the list.

Are we all in for a massive letdown or could this really happen?

I can see Enfield being interested. He’s got a tough rebuild at USC and a new athletic director. He will be on the hot seat next season. SMU is viewed as a sleeping giant in basketball circles with millions in NIL money and a lot of well-heeled boosters.

But is he the best SMU can do? The Mustangs move into the ACC next season and need a top-tier coach. Will they really go for Enfield? We can only hope.

      1. Hey MG our wish finally came through. Endfeld is gone. I wanted him gone as soon as he got hired at SC. So glad he left.

      2. [So Cal —I should point out, though, there is a move on the part of several RINO house members’ to retire BEFORE the election —thereby giving the House to the dems —which can then, under a recent Supreme Court ruling, join with the senate to ban Trump from the ballot under the 14th amendment —- i.e., the court said individual states can’t ban candidates from federal office ….. but congress can —so guess what will happen if the house and senate are controlled by the dems before November]……

      3. Not going to happen in time. But would have been interesting to see what ensued, following such a wild attempt to keep the people from deciding.
