There’s Always A USC Connection

There’s always USC connections to everything.

Today is James Garner’s birthday.

Since the Rockford Files is one of my favorite shows, let’s check out some Garner-USC connections.

(Garner’s daughter, Gigi, just sent me a tweet that she went to USC. Another connection!)

Here is Garner at USC during filming of an episode (The Prisoner of Rosemont Hall) at USC in 1977.

Here’s Garner (Jim Rockford) parking his famous Firebird right in front of the USC student union building.

Here is Garner at USC’s Fraternity Row. That’s the Tri-Delt sorority house in the background.

  • In 1968, two days after USC defeated UCLA, Garner performed a skit at a live show at the Sports Arena hosted by Bob Hope.

The star-studded show also featured John Wayne, Glen Campbell, Vic Damone, Juliet Prowse and Barbara McNair among other guests. Proceeds went to provide financial assistance to disadvantaged students.

    If Garner is across the street from the Tri-Delts then he must have been on the grounds of my old fraternity

      2. Few loves Spokane, but having just been through Lexington, it’s pretty nice.

        I’d say the Hogs are cornholed, Johnny didn’t exactly do much at UK, aside from recruit like a mother and never win.

        Tyson, they close 4 processing plants putting thousands out of work and then a couple of weeks ago they say they’re wiling to hire thousands of migrants, sound like the two John’s are cut from the same dirty cloth.

  5. You got it right, Ol’ Cap got only 1 national championship in his long long tenure and Kentucky-folk were in an uproar

    Of course hire migrants over citizens, they’re used to working cheap so the billionaire can try for 2-billion
