  • Isaiah Elohim, a four-star guard from Sierra Canyon High School, has requested his release from his letter of intent from Arkansas. Seems a natural to come to USC.
  • Sacramento State coach David Patrick is being mentioned as a candidate to be an assistant coach at USC.
  • The Iowa-South Carolina NCAA championship game was the most-watched game in women’s basketball history with 18.7 million viewers. It was the most-watched men’s or women’s game (college or pro) since 2019.

      3. 2023 was an opportunity that was lost. It was an opportunity because it was Calebs last year. I think 2024 is a similar opportunity. You have a great coaching staff and I don’t think all of those coaches will be back next year.

John — As you’ve pointed out umpteen times, things get awfully intense around here sometimes. I guess now is a good time to point out that your ability to articulate views on matters of philosophy, theology…and, most importantly of all, betting lines is very much the envy of all. I think your only vulnerability —-if you can even call it that —is you’re a decent and trusting person [much more so than I am]. Trusting people want to believe the dems have good motives for doing the things they’re presently doing…..whereas I [as a non-trusting SOB] know otherwise.

  12. — Just saw current pictures of Bitin and Stump and they both look haggard, just plain tired, and that’s when Bitin’ is actually erect- “You’re pushin’ too hard, You’re pushin’ too hard on me,” has to be their internal theme ‘song so maybe the public should lay off them a tad more

      You reminded me of the Twilight Zone episode where the protagonist is fed up with “push and drive” —and takes a train to Willoughby. A place where “a man can live life to the full measure.”

      1. Maybe the wrong way to look at it. I would argue that it might be a great way to start the year [the problem is, while USC is pointing to LSU, Michigan is pointing to USC the following week].

      2. Weirdly…not necessarily. I could see us getting UP for LSU …and blowing the Penn State game. Beating Notre Dame …and losing to UCLA. We’re not that stacked with talent —actually we’re REALLY thin. Injuries and circumstances are gonna play a big part in this year’s record.

MG: I think we are thin on the offensive line. Murphy needs to play to his potential at right tackle and the rest of the line needs to stay healthy. I have confidence in Paige and Monheim. But if we get around that hurdle, we will have a good offense with receivers that will present a match-up nightmare for defenses. As for the defense, if the new coaches simply teach them to line up properly and tackle it will be a major improvement. That Grinch slant by the d line is out and that should save us at least 3 big 20 plus yard runs per game. And the transfers include 3 or 4 very good experienced players which have to help us. I like our odds to win 10 games and make the playoffs. Of course, I said that last year.
