A Bruin Coming To USC?

I’m hearing former UCLA basketball player Earl Watson has emerged as a top choice to join the USC coaching staff.

Watson was the Phoenix Suns coach in 2016-17 and most recently was a Toronto Raptors assistant from 2021-23. He has wanted the UCLA job in the past.

Watson has club basketball ties and would give the staff some gravitas, especially with Keith Smart apparently not following Eric Musselman from Arkansas.

  • Colorado transfer J’vonne Hadley committed to Louisville over USC today. He averaged 11.6 points last season.

  1. I can still hear the Pauley Pavilion crowd in Watson’s last Yucla game as he pulverized another weak SC team– ”Earl Watson…Earl Watson..Earl Watson”

    1. Gee, what game was that Liar John ?

Must have been 1998 when ucla beat SC at Pauley Pissvillion 101-84. Doubt they were chanting Watson’s name, he scored 15, not exactly a huge game, Kris Johnson had 20. ( SC was awful )

In 1999 Watson went for 7 points at Pauley ( SC was a 500 team )

2000 Watson went for 22 but Kapono went for 27, ” Jason Kapano “, ” Jason Kapano “ ( ucla was 10-8 in conference SC was 9-9 )

2001 Watson got 17 but Kapano got 20, BTW SC was ranked 19th

Don’t think they ever chanted his name Liar John, maybe your memory is foggy, like your wife being a psychologist and you being a lawyer.

    1. His “poopman” videos were his greatest contribution to this blog. Otherwise you may have to read about his thoughts on news items, culture, politics, and USC football and that is pure torture. Like listening to a deaf man try to play the violin.

      1. Who is “Mrs. Horse Shit?” Was she the star of some of Gabby’s videos. Animal feces is Gabby’s art and his art is who he is.

  3. For what it is worth, my oldest son was at a summer hoops camp with Earl Watson around 2000. He was great with the kids, very humble, he worked hard, my son and the other kids loved him.

    1. Earl Watson is the son of a basketball coach. Earl was always respectful and fundamentally strong. Not surprising that he was good at coaching kids.

  4. France just placed abortion ‘freedom’ in its constitution although it fell short in calling it a “right”. I’m with the ‘Maggots’ on this one, at least in part, because SOME consideration should be extended to the fetus

    1. Catholics believe that an unborn baby, (don’t like the term fetus), is in the womb of its mother. That baby is stamped with the image and likeness of God the Father. It has immeasurable value. You can’t just kill it because you don’t want to care for it. It is a person, endowed by its creator with the right to life and must be protected. Government should care for unborn babies and their mothers and in no way assist with or be complicit in their destruction.
