USC Morning Buzz: A Double-Edged Honor

Do you think Jon Chu, who directed the film “Crazy Rich Asians” is now thrilled to be the keynote speaker at USC’s commencement on May 10?

Chu graduated from USC in 2003. He was probably gratified when USC asked him to speak and announced it on March 7. Today? Well . . .

  • Michigan State defensive tackle Simeon Barrow Jr. is in the transfer portal. He has started 30 games and twice been a Big Ten honorable mention selection.
  • Louisville defensive lineman Jermayne Lole has scheduled official visits with USC, Oklahoma, Washington, Texas A&M.
  • Former USC wide receiver Kyle Ford, who played at UCLA last season, has the Trojans among his six choices as transfer destinations. Isn’t the transfer portal wonderful?

  1. Chu is a great choice for commencement speaker. And I’m guessing he is happy he won’t need to sit through a valedictorian speech that could have been a diatribe about the Middle East and how awful the US is for supporting Israel.

    1. Well, she looked good to the BOT and Folt until it was pointed out that she is an anti Semite. I wonder how long they actually debated having her not speak?

      Weeks ?

      Days ?

      Hours ?

      Minutes ?

  3. NT Simeon Barrow looks goods. Strong, heavy, with some quickness. We need to get him. Two time honorable mention all big 10.

Don’t think Kyle Ford adds much. He does know the offense so that’s good but he never seemed to create a lot of separation. I would rather get a speedster.

    Get well BK.
