USC Notes: Coaches Trying Hard For Wide Receiver

There was a club basketball showcase over the weekend and during a game, you know what a couple coaches said?

That a coach of one of top five high school programs in California was already upset from dealing with Eric Musselman.

I didn’t take their word for it, so I checked with someone who has known the high school coach for years to check it out.

“He isn’t impressed (with Musselman),” the friend said.

Do I think Musselman is a good coach? Yes. Do I think he will work hard to succeed? Yes.

But even the day he interviewed with USC, I wrote that there is a lot that comes with Musselman. One of the critiques in Arkansas is that he was not popular with in-state high school coaches.

This is relevant because the Class of 2026 has four Southern California prospects who are among the top 10 players in the nation.

  • USC has gotten a commitment from Bowling Green forward Rashaun Agee, who averaged 13.3 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists last season. Agee ranked 19th in the country in rebounds per game and 10th in offensive rebounds per game.
  • Isaiah Elohim, a former Arkansas commit from Sierra Canyon, has announced he is committed to USC. Elohim is ranked as the No. 53 player in the ESPN 100.
  • USC is recruiting Penn State receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith. He visited Texas A&M the past two days. On3 says USC coaches are trying hard to get Lambert-Smith to visit and that his recruitment is a “dogfight.”

Lambert caught 53 passes for 673 yards an 4 TD’s last season.

  • Defensive lineman Isaiah Raikes, who left USC after three months, has committed to Auburn.
  • Former USC defensive end Romello Height has committed to Auburn.

      1. Or telling SDSU fans to fuck off or having your assistant coach grab a student reporters phone and smash it

USC , where due diligence isn’t practiced, see Sark, Helton, Bohn etc, etc

I still have not heard an explanation of what happened with Isaiah Raikes. Was he underperforming in Spring camp? Did he have a problem with Coach Henny? Did he want more NIL money?

It looks like Riley was not that disappointed in his departure. Spring camp is 15 practices and many of those are without full pads. How do you not make it through spring camp and yet manage to secure a deal with Auburn. The days of Vince Lombardi are gone.

    1. They both have something in common related to trump, constantly having to repeat

“is it in yet”. They both agree he’s hung like a pimple.

  1. Muzzleman came with ‘some baggage’ such as being a hothead which is probably indicative of being a rich snob. To Muzz, high school coaches are probably low on the food-chain ladder, and of course nobody likes ‘arrogance’

    • George: I am okay with Lawyer John but you can’t say that you will not read others comments and remain a genuine part of the blog. C’mon, a blog is about a back and forth exchange. But LJ has said repeatedly that he is not interested in what others think or post. Why post if you are not open to others who have a view that is different from your own. We learn from people who expose us to different views. The quality of those views is what matters. John acts as if we should not criticize his views and just accept them without any real factual or evidentiary support and that is not fair or acceptable. Really, as a lawyer, John should be used to a back and forth exchange that demands a clear position and support for what he says. But he seems to enjoy being deliberately vague and then criticizing those of us who are passionate. You know- “the dems and the repubs. are the same, both are equally at fault for the mess, and anyone who disagrees with me is a fanatic;”  Or my least favorite – “God, if he exists, doesn’t judge us, there is no heaven or hell, and we all go to the same place in the end.” Am I not to respond to this horseshit out of fear that I may offend him? My God, he is advocating heresy. I am compelled to respond.

You’re swimming in an ocean of hypocrisy! Others have called you out for the same thing and your follow-up responses have often led to name-calling. You’re just a drama bitch!

The best one was when you continued to call another member a chichen-shit. When in fact, that member repeatedly agreed to fight you at a neutral site, and you either ignored the offer or made up some lame excuse.

Are you opposed to asking others to provide factual and evidentiary support for their views? Your post confirms that you oppose factual support and evidence. You are in the right place. Continue to vote Democrat and receive your government benefits.
