USC Saturday Buzz: A Broken Record

Whatever happened to the Caleb Williams will refuse to go to Chicago crowd?

By the end of Thursday night, Williams’ Bears’ jersey had broken the Fanatics record for draft-night sales for any draft pick in any sport. He broke the record set the previous week by Caitlin Clark.

Wiliams will wear No. 18 with the Bears. Just like Mike Tomczak.

  • If you were at USC on Friday night, you could have heard the students in Founder’s Park chanting, “Carol Folt, go to hell!” I don’t know if they all knew it, but they were a stone’s throw from Folt’s office.

It didn’t matter if Folt was there or not, she’s now become a focal point of these protests, especially after canceling the main graduation ceremony.

  • Speaking of protests, Folt’s definitely changed her tune since her inaguration five years ago, when students were protesting on the steps of VKC while she was being sworn in as president.

“Protests can take place,” Folt said. “There has to be a space.”

  1. Poor Folt, actions have consequences, good and bad, but when you pick a person who promotes hate, you get what you get.

If the rich alums don’t funnel in any money, she’ll be out of her Santa Monica place in a year and then USC can find another WOKE female to replace her.

  2. Thanks for the Folt video. I guess we all knew the last chapter of her presidency would be the one in which she got burned by “The Summer Of Love” she encouraged & hoped would only impact the “little people”…..

    1. The dipshit president at Columbia will be the next one to go, once people like Columbia grad Robert Craft, a Jew, stop sending in huge checks, others will follow, and that will be that for her.

SC can’t seem to get out of it’s own way anymore on just about everything.

  3. Didn’t USC take names off of buildings because he/they were Nazi sympathizers ?

But if you side with Hamas and Hezbollah, both enemies of Israel, it’s ok to speak at the graduation ceremony.

  4. it’s been obvious for months that the Bears were going to take Caleb Williams. It’s been even more obvious for years that they needed a Quarterback. Why people were saying anything else is beyond me. The Bears have a great defensive line. They used their top picks to land one of the highest rated players at any position in recent years and then they grabbed a fantastic wideout. The other option would have been to trade down and hope there’s a good QB still available. This was a great draft for QB’s but passing on a talent like Caleb would not have been worth the risk. It’s going to take time to adjust to the speed of the game in the NFL. Every player is a superstar compared with college players. Hopefully, Caleb will tone down the distractions and put in the effort to make the adjustments. He’s going to be exciting to watch!

    1. It could have all be avoided with some due diligence from SC about the woman’s background of liking hate and not picking a candidate based on sex, or what headdress they wear, but that’s the Woke’s way, it’s DEI all the way.

  6. Suddenly I’m a Bears fan- nothing against them but I never thought about them before, however it will be interesting to see Celeb & those fine Bears’ wideouts, see what they can do

    1. Cheering for a guy on Sundays who spent one or two years at USC will never be the same as a guy who was at USC from high school on. I certainly won’t be rooting against Caleb, but won’t be tuning into his games with the same eagerness as Sam’s.

      1. He’s no different than a JC kid from back in the day, two years at JC, two at SC, he just did his first two years at Oklahoma.

I doubt Williams has any allegiance to either.

  8. In the video clip of the USC protestors that Scott posted, the protestors chant “USC we charge you with genocide.” Aren’t these the same people who chant “from the river to the sea Palestine must be free.” That is a call for genocide of the Jews. So it appears that the protestors are fine with genocide as long as it is directed at the Jews. USC should not tolerate this behavior. It is ruining their reputation and will eventually result in more potential employers taking a pass on USC students for fear that they share the WOKE values of their university in favor of students from more traditional colleges. You know, colleges who still consider grades and SAT scores in their admissions criteria rather than skin color.

  10. I think that is the LAST thing Carol would say.

This woke DEI brand that has taken over USC has got to go. Its chickens have come home to roost (and not in a good way).

Carol should leave. It’s time. She’s sloppy (not doing due diligence into the commencement valedictorian on social media?! WTF!?), and then pulling her (when she easily could have kept her as a speaker – but made it clear that her speech would be reviewed beforehand). But the masterstroke of cowardice is to steal graduation day away from the COVID class. A completely “ballless” maneuver. With ample LAPD and Security Services support, and a good gameplan going in – the vast majority of the student body would have no qualms with seeing their graduation day preserved. Now USC has the false image of just being a bunch of Palestinian protesters (FALSE), and the administration of being cowards (TRUE). This fish stinks from the head down, and the message is clear: until Carol leaves, donors will have cause to pause.

Go woke, go broke, Carol. And look bad doing it…

  11. This Denver team with the best player taking down the Lakers is reminiscent of the Boston Celtics’ days when even with Jerry West and Elgin Baylor the Lake could not get by Bill Russell&Co.

Everybody talks about how athletes in all the sports have gotten better over the decades; I would take Denver over those old Celtics’ teams

  12. And along with West and Baylor was little known Frank Selvy who had his “winning” shot versus the Celtics rim out and set the stage for a decades-long oppression of the Lake

Selvy is known to be the only college basketball player to score 100-points in a game, garnering his final ‘2’ with a half-court heave as time expired
