USC Notes: Basketball Lands Big Ten Transfer

Michigan forward Terrance Williams II has committed to USC.

He averaged 12.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists this season. Williams also shot 39.7 percent on three-point shots.

  • Xavier guard Desmond Claude visited USC this past weekend. He averaged 16.6 points and was named the Most Improved Player in the Big East. This sounds like another one of the impact players Eric Musselman wants to land this week.
  • USC held its graduation in 1992 four days after the Los Angeles riots ended and with federal troops still deployed. But it needed to cancel the 2024 ceremony and all other events for “safety reasons.”
  • Carol Folt’s former employer, North Carolina, assures its students that will hold its graduation.

  1. Carol has made a career out of crafting perfectly meaningless sentences [“I am proud to walk the Path Of Righteousness”] —-& now that USC needs her to get serious [& make sense], she’s at a loss…

The funny thing about Carol is: she’s always promoted herself as a lightweight [knowing that’s the only reason Caruso and the Board would want her]….and, now, she seems all surprised & upset she’s being taken as a lightweight by the national news media….

  2. How is Muzzleman wooing these basketballers, “Go West young man go West until you arrive at SC”

I recall the 1992 Riots as I was driving an open convertible near the riot-center at the time they began when my wife later told me how lucky I was

  3. USC could have hired Morty Schapiro from Northwestern, where he had built the university and the athletics program, but the BOT decided it needed a DEI hire, so they picked Folt who failed at North Carolina. Put her on the list with the other failed hires of Swann, Haden, and Helton.

      1. …If circumstances didn’t get so serious, Folt could’ve & would’ve skated by….but, unfortunately for her, USC finds itself in a situation requiring real leadership….

  4. “The students said at the end they wouldn’t have considered this meeting a win from their perspective, and I can fully appreciate that,” Folt said in a statement. “I think we need to continue to have those conversations, and I’m pleased we all agree on that. We’ll go day by day.”

People who have real jobs are required to get things done. Look at the above statement from Folt. No sense of urgency, no commitments made, no demands. The meeting accomplished nothing and yet Folt is “pleased” that they will have future conversations. She has no clue how to fix this situation and it is easily fixable.

  5. Well, Wolf, the 1992 Riots were not centralized on the local universities’ lawns as are the 2024 Disturbances, and there will always be outside agitators who treat disturbances as if it is ‘party time’
