The Big Ten football draft has been going since last week, where the three networks (Fox, CBS, NBC) pick their games.
Fox announced its first three games for its Big Noon kickoff:
Sept. 7: Texas at Michigan
Sept. 14: Alabama at Wisconsin
Nov. 30: Michigan at Ohio State
The best chance for USC to get in that time slot is Sept. 21 when the Trojans visit Michigan.
The USC-Penn State game at the Coliseum on Oct. 21 also should be attractive, probably for NBC at 4:30 p.m. PT.
Who is going to take the USC-Rutgers game on Oct. 26?
The good news: None of the games will be on the Pac-12 Network.
- Saxophonist David Sanborn died Sunday at age 78. So let’s appreciate this wonderful collaboration of David Bowie performing “Young Americans” on the Dick Cavett Show in 1974.
Sanborn on the sax, Bowie singing and Luther Vandross on background vocals. Classic.
For those who thought college football was on the decline because of NIL and Portal considerations, the t.v. networks thought differently and are paying billions over the next few years

For the Power 5 conferences it’s great, non Power 5, not so much
And just because the networks are throwing money at it doesn’t mean it’s thriving

-Can’t imagine Fox, CBS and NBC divvying up the college football games-
“Hey Fox you want that dog of a game SC-Rutgers ’cause CBS wants to dump it”

In the old days when the Pac-12 was non-dormant SC only got Ohio St, Michigan or Penn St once a decade if the Trojans made the Rose Bowl, and so now we will get each of those 3-teams at least every 3rd year, so that part is great except for Michigan 1-6 with SC over the last half-century or so

Scooter,
At least no game will start later than 5 PM Pasadena Time as long as SC is in the new league.

So when SC games are shown in the midwest they don’t want them beginning at 8:00, so the ‘Day game’ is back which is when football rightfully should be played

SC will still play plenty of games starting from 5 to 6,

-Never was a Michigan fan, I rooted for Ohio St (probably because of Ohio in-law influence) but also due to the Buckeyes seeming to be the better team most years.
And also because Michigan was pretty easy for SC as a 6-1 rcord would indicate, and you can bet they’ll be looking for a little revenge come September, that game for the Wolverines might only be second to the Ohio St one

…and it will only be “second” to the LSU, UCLA and Notre Dame game for us….
