USC Sunday Buzz: Lincoln Riley Continues Trend

A USC alum emailed to tell me Lincoln Riley continued one of his traditions by not showing up at the Trojan Football Alumni Club golf tournament.

The football alumni club includes former USC players. I’ve been to meetings on campus and it’s had close relationship with past coaches.

But as I’ve said, Riley is not one to mingle, whether with former players, students or other people on campus.

Even athletic dept. employees say they rarely interact with him. Just wait until that new football building gets constructed. No one will see him. If he is stil the USC coach, that is.

A few USC assistant coaches did reportedly show up at least for the tournament.

I hoped last year’s five-loss season might cause Riley to be a little more humble and interact with alumni, etc. Apparently, it hasn’t.

  1. I hope Riley gives wolf a good ass whipping, long overdue….the third-rate blogger has been reduced to talking shit about Riley 24/7, to feel better about the joke he has become

The freak trolled his own blog and ran off everyone. The limp-dick club is all that’s left, pathetic!

  3. Is Riley a fraud or are today’s college coaches the opposite of Pete Carroll?

Andy Enfield also was not too approachable.

I bet Musselman will be approachable?

Recently, saw Sean McVay at Sherwood CC.. Super friendly and very perspnable.

    Thoughts?

    1. The real question……is Scott Wolf a fraud?……..he claims all these coaches and random people are always contracting him……..for what?……..or is it just voices in his head

    1. Right Tim. The guy is recruiting instead of playing golf. Good for him.

Because of recruiting a college head coach is performing his job 10 months of the year. He may be putting in 60 hour weeks in the off season and with spring ball there is not much of an off season. Riley has a young family. Maybe he wants to do something with the wife and kids a few weeks out of the year instead of entertaining the alumni. Cut the guy some slack. If he wins 10 games next year, everything will he fine with the alumni. If he wins 7 or less, stomp on his ass and find somebody else. That’s how the game works.

      1. Correct, Plow. Nobody will give a shit about the Alumni Golf Tournament if Riley wins the Big Ten….. [conversely all the golf tournament attendance in the world won’t matter if he loses 5 games again]……
