USC Notes: Trojans To The Desert

USC men’s basketball will play in the inaugural Acrisure Series in Palm Desert on Nov. 28-29. The Trojans will face St. Mary’s and either Arizona State or New Mexico.

The women’s basketball team will also play in the event, facing Seton Hall on Nov. 27 and St. Louis on Nov. 29.

Reaction: None of these games excite me. If you don’t live in the desert, why would you go?

  • The WNBA is a not ready for prime time sports league.
  1. The officiating is terrible.
  2. What other league has a team (the Indiana Fever) play a league-high 11 games while the defending champs (Las Vegas Aces) have played six? The league is grinding Caitlin Clark and Co. into the ground for ratings.
  3. Some of the players do not know how to be covered objectively by the media. Women’s basketball media are generally fawning in their coverage so when players get asked real questions, they don’t know how to handle it. Or in the case of Angel Reese on Saturday, they duck the media altogether.

  1. The women in the Pro Basketball League don’t know how to handle questions from the press says Wolfie which I would bet he’s wrong compared to the mens’ professional leagues; women are usually better talkers
