A Bold Prediction For USC

A friend said this afternoon on 710-AM, USC football play-by-play announcer Pete Arbogast said the Trojans could go 11-1 this season.

I didn’t hear the interview but USC could go 11-1. It could also go 12-0. I suppose it could also go 6-6. Anything is possible.

But you know you need to promote the football team as it returns to 710-AM, so it’ll be 11-1, I guess.

  • USC assistant track coach Joanna Hayes has been named the head track coach at UCLA. It’s a Homecoming for Hayes, who was a star hurdler at UCLA.

It’s also a no-brainer hire because she can’t possibly do worse than some of the previous recent coaches.

  1. I seem to be in the minority by liking Arbogast’s SC play-by-play, but he is a Trojan homer when he talks about 11-1. The problem is that so many of the SC games are toss-ups at best so there will be some expected and unexpected losses, but why not dream a little until September’s reality sets in

      I think he and Tom (Trojans are their own worst enemy) Kelly have been the best. I think Pete does a good job trying to keep it obejctively, but nothing wrong with throwing a little homerism into the show. If the dodgers can do it with their blabbering and slobbering announcers, then it is okay.

      1. So glad that procedure went well enough that you’re here to write about it 30 years later! The blog needs tough, thick skinned old farts like me, you, Plow Horse, Steve and Michael. The blog child has run off almost everyone else. I’m glad Boogs and ’67 also pop in on occasion.

        Hope this doesn’t go too poorly for the young man that confronted the bad guy. This type of vigilante justice is what Gascon & Newsom have pushed us towards! Whiny Libs will say the property wasn’t worth the man’s life, but the simple fact is someone should have taught HIM that!!

  3. What Arbogast believes makes sense….why not? USC defeats LSU and clear MI then it’s ‘…off to the races…’ until we face ‘the princess’. Save their opener @ TX A&M the Irish have an easy schedule that won’t get them ready for 30th November 2024 @ the Coli.
