Lincoln Riley seemed to contradict himself yesterday depending on when he was asked a question.
“Our collective is probably the most improved collective in the country and continues to improve. (I’m) not too concerned about what everybody else has done.”
Then he said this: “We’re playing catch up in facilities. We’re playing catch up in NIL. We’ve been playing catch up in nearly damn near every avenue.”
It should be worth noting that USC has not been viewed as be being behind in facilities. That’s a myth started by Riley so he can get his precious football building.
And let’s remember how Mike Bohn poured a lot of money into the football dept. when Clay Helton was the coach to avoid comments like the ones Riley made above.
But he needs excuses for losing. That’s what fuels all these comments.
Just like he can’t play Notre Dame because he worries about losing. Even though a loss like that wouldn’t seem to necessarily eliminate a team from the expanded College Football Playoff.
