USC Notes: Bold Prediction On LSU Game

With USC ranked No. 23 in the AP Top 25 poll, it’s worth noting that since 2004, every national champion was originally ranked in the top 7.

There were two exceptions: Florida State was ranked No. 11 in 2013 and Auburn was ranked No. 22 in 2010.

  • Paul Finebaum is a big SEC fan and he’s been roasting Lincoln Riley all summer.

So it’s not surprising he predicts LSU will not be pushed by USC in the season-opener in Las Vegas.

“People will be able to turn off the TV and go to sleep early that night because it won’t be that close either,” Finebaum said.

  4. well that’s a fine balm for SC fans…hope he likes crow,I think he will be served a generous portion of it…not only is the coaching better,but the players and their attitudes are changed from last year,plus their size and strength and conditioning ,from what I have read.

    If the D cordinator can do what he did for ugly last year with SC’s players, then that will be 10 points less for lswho. I like his defense. It is a defense that lays the punishment on the offense first. However, Riley has yet to prove that he is a head coach. I am hoping that he will grow in this area so that he can be the leader and place SC in the best position possible with his decisions. Being a head coach is not for the weak or meek. To me Riley seems soft. You can have that look on the outside but inside, you have to be cut throat and have a, “Take no prisioner”, attitude. We will see.

  8. PF is either dead-on right… or horribly wrong. Knowing PF, I’d heavily bet the latter. Furthermore, this is awesome poster-board material to get USC riled up and LSU complacent. Looking forward to the game…
