Defensive end Anthony Lucas lost his starting job after the first game last season. He didn’t do a whole lot after that. He had a disappointing freshman season at Texas A&M.
He got a lot of hype in the spring and continues to draw hype this summer.
But will he start? Or make an impact? The problem last season was Lincoln Riley overhyped Ceyair Wright and Tackett Curtis.
Lucas could be a gauge of the defense. If he has a non-descript season, it will be business as usual. If he really is vastly improved, it will benefit the defense and USC overall.
So Lucas is a good indicator of how USC will fare this season.

Let me help you out here because you’re obviously confused. Joe Biden hasn’t been nominated for 2024. The DNC, where the nomination becomes official, is scheduled for next week and Kamala Harris will be the nominee.
At 78 and looking older by the day, Donald Trump is the oldest person ever nominated to run for president.

You need more than just one player to say how the defense will be. You need to take more samples of players to get a better reading on the defense.
