USC Morning Buzz: A Familiar Face Returns To Big Ten

Mark Jackson, the former USC administrator who was close to Pete Carroll and became a favorite of Pat Haden, has become athletic director at Northwestern. Jackson was the athletic director at Villanova.

He was also close to Steve Sarkisian and part of the group that wanted him to replace Lane Kiffin. Jackson left USC right before Sarkisian encountered problems that led to his firing.

“He’s our MVP,” Haden used to tell associates at USC about Jackson.

“Mark Jackson is a game changer for Northwestern,” Carroll said. “He will lead with strength and creativity, and he brings great background and proven leadership.”

Jackson’s never been an athletic director at a school with football. Also, Villanova hasn’t exactly thrived in basketball since Jackson had to replace the legandary Jay Wright.

      3.  The two top military generals  who oversaw the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan placed blame for the chaos squarely on Senile Joe, arguing the order to evacuate the country should have come much sooner and more troops should have been kept in Afghanistan to ensure stability.
