USC has an opening on its schedule for 2025 after it dropped Mississippi and is talking to California and Stanford about filling the void.
This makes sense for several reasons: A game against one of the Bay Area schools means minimal or no travel. It’s an opponent that will be met with Sir Lincoln of Riley’s approval. And it also renews a historic rivalry with one of the schools.
Cal and Stanford each have openings on their schedule for next season.

Yes, this would be very good. They should have one of these schools each year. There are only so many cross-country trips the kids realistically can make in a semester. And it would bring back a bit of the old, Pac 8 flavor.

If USC plays Stanford, there is the added bonus of Scottie posting the infamous Stanford Daily cartoon of USC being up 1,992 to 0, and McKay telling Haden “If we score, then go for 2”.

USC should schedule Stanford every year, get them back on the schedule. We need another rivalry/game people care about. And it’s good to give bay area alums a game to attend every other year .
