USC plays Wisconsin in two weeks. The Badgers were blown out by Alabama, 42-10, in Madison.
Tackett “Captain America” Curtis had a team-high five tackles for the Badgers.
- Some shocking coaching/discipline by Jedd the Fisch in Washington’s 24-19 loss to Washington State in the Apple Cup.
He ran a horrible QB run option that got buried at the 3-yard line on his team’s final possession. It was just as bad as the option play he ran in OT against USC that got buried (and he didn’t even know the OT rules, of course).
Washington State then wanted to just run the ball from 3-yard line to wind down the final minute off the clock. But Washington had two straight offsides penalties, which allowed the Cougars to run out the clock without even using all four downs.
- Speaking of the Fisch, the bubble has officially burst at Arizona, which was routed by Kansas State on Friday night. Even worse for Wildcat fans, ASU is 3-0.
UDUB is headed back to being irrelevant again, maybe they should head back to the PAC 12 and take ucla with them

Scott, I don’t want to get ahead of myself here, but look at the calendar schedule for October 12….What an epic day of college football games that will be. Hopefully, SC can be 5-0 for their showdown at the Coliseum versus Penn State. However, we need to win one game at a time, starting in Ann Arbor next Saturday, of course.

Not as much fun posting here with this Censor now in place, but I’ll try again–
You think Georgia loses its beforehand firm grip on No. 1?– The ‘Dawgs’ as they call themselves did pull out the game so they won’t fall far, but No. 1 Texas, No. 2 Ohio St and No. 3 Georgia sounds about right

Regarding ratings, I definitely hear you and agree with your ranking. GA didn’t look so good, but it takes a lot to knock the #1 out, provided that they win, even if it is an ugly win. So for better or worse, I expect it will remain GA, OSU, TX, but OSU may get more #1 votes, and TX might get a handful.

Do rankings even matter now ?
Win your conference and hope for the best in the championship game. If you’re undefeated and lose the conference championship game you’ll probably make the playoffs.
Georgia gets Bama next then Texas and Mississippi down the road, lose those three and they’re probably out of the playoffs.
USC can run the table and will probably play OSU in the championship game, even if they lose they’ll probably make the playoffs.

I like ‘thinking’ football, and the buildup to a game is sometimes better than the game itself, and so we have SC at Michigan with the Wolverines owning a 1-6 record since 1970, so probably there’ll be a little ‘revenge’ motivation to this game

Alabama polishing off Wisconsin took the bloom off the upcoming SC-Badgers game; and with Georgia appearing vincible there’s hope for everybody else

The Big Ten is for the taking this year. No super team for SC to worry about.

And so the race to the ‘Final-12’ is well on into its 3rd week, but winning that College National Championship is another story. Even the Top-4 finishers have to win 3 games against Top-12 teams, so schools winning multiple Titles as in the past aka Alabama, is a thing of the past

Shades of 1988 with No. 2 SC and No. 1 ND being “decided” by Rodney Peete hurting his arm in the first half when he too was blocked by a head-hunter

SC a 6 1/2 point favorite lver Michigan. That will rile up the locals even more as the Trojans come in as their customary Michigan bullies

Actually MG, Kiffin’s 2012 team was AP preseason #1. Remember then AD Pat Haden crowing about how SC had loaded up on recruits to frustrate the NCAA with the approaching 3 year probation scholarship limitations?
