Morning Buzz: What Happened To America’s Toughest Schedule?

Has USC gone from having one of the most difficult schedules to one of the easiest schedules in America?

Michigan is a shell of the team that won the national championship; Wisconsin looked inept against Alabama; Penn State is 2-0 but barely beat Bowling Green by 7 points; Washington lost to Washington State and Notre Dame lost to Northern Illinois. Let’s not even discuss UCLA.

Even Oregon, who USC would not play unless both teams make the Big Ten title game, has been lousy in two of its three games.

The only team that looks better than projected is Nebraska.

So much for a daunting schedule.

      1. Ryan Wesley Routh is a Democrat. He was allegedly hiding in the bushes with an AK-47 with a scope, two backpacks, and a GoPro and was spotted by the Secret Service before he could take action on President Trum

  1. Any angle that you can push to degrade the Trojans you will. I think people read you for a good laugh and that’s it. Except maybe Bruin fans to get material they can use against Trojan fans.

  2. True the schedule does not look as daunting as once believed but college teams can look so different from one week to the next, so there are few “easy” wins

  3. How is it SC’s fault that the teams they will play have for the most part, stunk ?

In fact, YOU Mr. Wolf, were the one spouting over and over and over about how tough the Big 10 was going to be

      1. But write “Had*n” or “Park*r” or even “Michig*n” and the post is sent to purgatory.

If “Inside USC” was an Air B and B, the advertisement would be “charming 19th century cabin, water occasionally usually runs, but bring blankets in case furnace goes on the fritz.”

  4. In the “old” football days as soon as SC lost a game I thought it was the end of the Trojans’ chances to win the National Title and it usually was, but with the ‘Final-12’ System you can lose a game (or 2?) and still probably get in

  5. Imagine poor YUCLA going in to LSU as more than a 3-touchdown ‘dog. With such teams how many deccades will it take for them to get out from under its $170-million athletic debt?

  6. It comes down to the ‘Big-10’ having Ohio St, maybe Oregon and possibly SC versus the SEC having Georgia, Alabama and Texas

    1. Penn St. has good athletes and may reach the playoffs. It would not surprise me if we ended up with 4 from the BIG and 4 or 5 from the SEC. Bama does not have a dominate defense and GA is not invincible. The most impressive team so far is Texas. Miami looks good but Cristobol will screw it up.

  7. Scooter,

With the improvement of SC’s defense, SD more than likely would/will beat most of those teams due to speed at the wr and a better defense. Miller is posed to play the postion and it shows that he looks like a 5 year pro.
