USC Notes: Big Ten Teams Bringing Huge Contingents

As expected, USC received a commitment from four-star wide receiver Jerome Myles of Draper, Utah.

  • The Wisconsin and Nebraska games at the Coliseum are officially sold out.

Thank you Big Ten teams with large travel contingents!

  • The USC-Michigan game is not the hot ticket it once was according to seat geek:

No. 6 Tennessee vs. No. 15 Oklahoma: $227

No. 24 Illinois vs. No. 22 Nebraska: $121

No. 11 USC vs. No. 18 Michigan: $86

No. 12 Utah vs. No. 14 Oklahoma State: $106

  • Since I included some USC buttons this morning, here’s another one:

      1. Santa Monica is building 130 units (3 blocks from the beach) for homeless, at a cost of $145 million. Won’t be ready for 6 years. Many of the Santa Monica homeless will be gone by then, drug ODs. What an upside-down state…

      2. Plow Horse, no need to get off drugs to be eligible for $1,000,000 apt unit. I believe eligibility is for the “homeless” or “at risk of becoming homeless”. Whatever that means. That $1,000,000 apartment in Santa Monica is equal to three single-family homes in good neighborhoods with a nice backyard in much of the rest of the country. What a horrible use of funding.

  2. Nice to have a sellout at the Coliseum. Adds excitement and will help recruiting. Does UCLA take their recruits to home games? Can’t imagine a recruit wanting to play before an empty stadium.

  3. Difficult to understand the ticket prices. The Michigan/Washington game had over 25 million tv viewers last year. I bet USC/Michigan has over 10 million tv viewers. But they can’t outdraw Utah/OSU when it comes to the demand for attending live games? I understand that live vs. tv is apples vs. oranges but still does not make sense.

  4. Scooter,

It would be a generous act to take Bartner back to the Michigan game this Saturday and let him lead the band since he started at Michigan. SC and Michigan should have had honored Bartner for what he did at both schools
